Naked Comedy Cancelled today
Hi Crashers, David woke up under the weather today, so we have to postpone the Naked Comedy that was scheduled for this morning. We'll reschedule it once he feels better. For now, check out the trailer for Legend Has It.

Awww so sorry this was cancelled and Mr. Zucker is under the weather. Looking forward to it in the future. Be well Master Zucker!
We're about to go live!
Tom Dreesen is in the studio and we're about to go live. As a comedian, Tom was on The Tonight Show 61 times and toured with Frank Sinatra for 14 years. If you're working toward a career as a comic, you don't want to miss this one!

Thank you so much for a GREAT podcast with 2 very important, influential, and distinguished persons, The Tom and David Show! Looking forward to reading Tom's newest book "Still Standing". Tom who is 97 years old!!! Summarized his key points; comedy depends on surprise, start where you are, work as often as you can - volunteer- there's magic in believing in yourself, realize no one is going to help you unless they are getting paid, don't ever quit, study the masters, and be a story teller! Ellie described ballroom dancing to stand up comedy and its relationship with the audience, it's timing and rhythm! Fantastic and relatable analogy! 💫👏
Screenwriting Experience
On a scale of 1-10, what is your level of screenwriting experience? (Some guide posts) 1 - What's a screenplay? 3 - I know that screenplays exist. 5 - I've read a screenplay before. 6 - I have some ideas, but I don't really know how to start. 7 - I've finished a draft, but it needs some help. 8 - I've finished a final draft, but no one will read it. 10 - I've sold a screenplay.

Joel emphasized keeping things simple-ish (is production ever simple?) don't over-do. Mr. Zucker and Joel discussed how the 1) wide shots, 2) over the shoulder shots and 3) single shots are best used showing examples from Out of Sight and Naked Gun movies (extraordinarily creative and in harmony) to natural soft camera movements remembering that camera usage is part of the story.. Strip away all that razzal dazzle stuff (dolly, gimble etc.) because it usually distracts from the story. Let jokes unfold, don't point or acknowledge them. Movies film people who are talking. Film making is an art not a science. And this was just the beginning of the class! Debbie spoke in detail about story boards. They also discussed inserts, pacing and so much more! It all made sense.
