Need advice on how to lose! Trading psychology.
I’ve got this and know it’s just a matter of time now before I’m successful but I’m struggling with accepting losses. I’ll be up and have a good streak of Green Day’s and then I come undone. I get one loss and I can’t help myself to trade to get back to green and then in one day I’ll lose a whole weeks worth of profit. Any advice, tips, or articles to help get over this hump? TIA!

@Jemma Wilson Wonderful! I’ll keep my eye out for it cause boy do I need it.
Delay on Tradingview
I’ve been paper trading on TV for almost a year and all of a sudden I have delayed charts…. I’m on their free account. What gives? Anyone else all of a sudden experiencing this? Is there a way to fix it? May be my sign to start trading with real money! Haha.

1 year in.....
August was one year for me here in FFW; end of this month will be one year live trading. I am at an impasse as to whether or not to continue because I'm questioning if I can do this or not. I have invested $750 over the year and my balance is $108 today. My husband has been very supportive of me through this journey but he asked me this week, "Shouldn't you be profitable by now??" I'm not even sure. Are y'all profitable within a year?? I feel like I see people with just a few months in here that are making money. I'm only trading daily forex pairs, for multiple reasons: 1) I would love to trade futures and scalp, because I see all the chatter about them, but I don't feel confident trying to move on to anything else if I can't profit in Forex. 2) I've tried to trade on the 15min but I guess my balance is too low....? I don't seem to ever have enough margin. 3) Also, I don't want to fund another account to get into futures or indices when I can't keep money in the one I'm currently working with. I have had so many ups and downs with trading-mostly downs. I go back and re-watch the VIP trainings over and over to make sure it's in my brain right, which I feel like it is. Then I'll set my trades based on what I think is right, they may even go green for a while, only to wake up to 3 SL. BUT I go again! I have used my trading plan in the past, but now I just pray to hit 1:1. When I read the comments about everyone's successes, it seems it's mostly in indices or futures and lower TFs. Am I better off to abandon Forex and trade only futures?? I've never traded indices because I didn't learn tradelocker and now I don't even know where or how to trade them. Am I the only one that feels like everyone is profitable but me??

I’m in the same boat. Trading for a year now and saw a 66% loss in my account trading on the 1 hour. The backtesting showed I should have been profitable. I realized that spread was the thing killing me! I switched over to a demo account in Futures and it’s night and day. I’ve doubled my account in 2 months. Going to stay in demo for a few more weeks then going live!
How do you handle risk in regards to spread?
I’m wanting to start trading on the lower timeframes and it seems like my spreads are far higher than the examples I’m seeing. This says it’s 6.8 but the black lines represent where I’m triggered in. A 40 pip difference. I’m already starting at a 50%+ loss nearly and my SL is basically already reached the second I enter the trade. Do I have something set incorrectly on TradingView or Oanda? Any insight would be appreciated.
