Beautiful. Thank you.
The Foundation: Creativity as Worship: Invitation response
The Invitation was: What have you been treating as "just a project" that might actually be an assignment? I've run a little accountability group for people who sell through some of the marketplaces I have dipped my toes into as I explored how to share my creativity. It was born out of isolation and the overwhelming anonymity of open groups. I just realise I called it "little"! The reality is it's not little. It's a way I've been able to support souls. I know who in that group is in bed this week with covid, who had a new job interview this week, who is travelling the path of grief, who has been struggling for months with a huge resource and who will share their weekly tasks religiously, even if they are on vacation. Within it, I've made friends, been pushed to defend my ideas, challenged to come up with content, inspired to make monthly tracker pages and so much more. It's the kind of group I have to ask for permission to pray. A privilege and a sadness for me. I suppose that's why I'm here. I had never labelled my other group an assignment, but it is, with all the positive and negatives that brings. Perhaps I to need a place I can be poured into without stepping into a leadership role?

@Vicki J O'Grady Longo thank you so much for sharing, I'm so glad my rambling resonated with you. Its so exciting to hear how God is leading you into a new adventure. I'm going to add you to my prayers tonight 💗
Welcome to Called to Create 🕊️
I'm so glad you're here. This is a space for Christian women who know God's asking them to build something, a business, a book, a ministry, a podcast, content that actually says something, and who are tired of waiting to feel ready before they start. We don't pretend the fear isn't there. We just don't let it have the final word. To kick things off, introduce yourself in the comments: - Your name - What God's asked you to build - One thing you're doing afraid this week Let your YES be louder than your no.

I usually go by Kate Mi online, (officially Milošević) Kids ministry resources are my creative passion. I started in 2010 when I found my new church community had none. As a missionary, resourcing suitable things to translate was a struggle. It spun out to a website in 2011, and, when my missionary funding failed, I monetised some parts in 2021. I'm still overseas, but I've dropped the missionary title. Doing things 'somewhat afraid' seems to be a default for us lately. Hubby is finishing his 5th month unemployed, and God has needed to step in, big time, already. Still, whenever I turn to alternatives, I feel strongly God pushing me to be faithful to this endeavour. This week, that's looked like renewing and refreshing my Christmas packs. ps.I know I'm not starting, but I also know that I'm having to pivot from pocket money to real sales.

@Kirsty Damba Hey, sorry to ghost the response, the app failed to install correctly on the phone and I got led down rabbit holes. I sell in various places, my own site and various online marketplaces. My latest expansion this year has been Etsy, though I'm still catalogue building there. I'm terrible at marketing, I tend to throw myself at every sales platform. A couple of years ago I peaked my income enough to cover my sons school bill, but like many online sellers it's nosedived since and now we need it more. However, praise God, hubby may have picked up a part-time job today!
