Day 1 My Clarity Rating (1 = foggy, 5 = crystal clear) Who I'm becoming: 1 What I'm building: 3 My offers: 3 How people find me: 2 What's blocking me: 2 My action plan: 1 My daily practice: 5 My goal is to determine the most important things to put my effort towards to grow my community. I want to become laser focused on the important pieces (leaving a little space for what also lights me up the most but may not result in revenue). I also want to get better at determining what offers will help my members the most (which I should create)
Early Insights from Vision Board Workshop
@Evelyn Weiss - Thank you so much for the workshop - I ended up staying up til 5 am listening because it was so good. I really appreciated the focus on a normal day and the idea of looking at what you are consuming to uncover insights. It was so beautiful how you kept bringing it back to long term sustainability and how we can use our vision to create something that can grow with us. I have been falling a bit into a victim mentality lately in my life and this was a wonderful reminder that I can shape my future much more than I was giving myself credit for. One thing that struck out for me early was looking at my content I really have been attracted to learning about certain Japanese approaches to people and customers. One thing in particular I have been digging deep into is Omotenashi (definition below) and after the workshop I realized that this is very aligned with how I want to treat people who buy from me - looking at the definition I think I can take a lot of this and create some guidelines for myself when I start to feel like I am straying away from my core mission. It's really exciting. Can't wait to dive in deeper on all the other pieces. Omotenshi definitinon: Omotenashi is the unique Japanese concept of selfless, wholehearted hospitality, focusing on anticipating a guest's needs without expectation of reward, deeply rooted in mindfulness, attention to detail, and a sincere desire to provide an exceptional experience, evident from a subtle tea ceremony to product design. It means "no hidden agenda" (from omote meaning "public face" and nashi meaning "nothing") and goes beyond mere customer service to create a truly memorable, respectful interaction. Key Aspects of Omotenashi: - Selfless Service: Providing care and service from the heart, without expecting tips or rewards, unlike some Western hospitality models. - Anticipation: Foreseeing and fulfilling needs before the guest even asks, often described as "reading the air" (kuuki wo yomu). - Attention to Detail: Manifests in subtle actions, like adjusting lighting, arranging shoes for easy wear, or customizing a dish for a guest. - Mindfulness & Sincerity: A genuine, heartfelt intention behind every action, rooted in respect and a desire to bring joy or comfort.
