Kicking Things Off! (Introductions)
I’ll start things off! I’m Sean, a guitar instructor from Texas, I have been teaching since the mid 90s. I’ve had a brick and mortar Guitar Academy since 2004. I’ve been teaching online since 2009. Tell me about you! I’d love to hear your story! Doesn’t have to be elaborate, just what you play how long, any favorite guitars or bands or passions, and anything else you’d like to share! I was a fixture in the Musicians Talk Forum on Ultimate Guitar, which many of you have probably heard of. This was where we all talked music theory and helped other guitarists. I’ve made many great friendship over the years from people there! Currently, I am one of the leaders in the Facebook community “Guitar and Music Theory” which has over 100k members. Beyond all of that, helping others is a passion of mine, and I have been fortunate to have picked up some very unique insights about music and making it easy for others to do the same. I really just want to grow a really tight knit community of like minded players, and hang out, help one another, so if you’d like to join in, welcome aboard, and I hope to be a positive influence in your own guitar journey. One thing that I hope we can do are those virtual meetups, where we just hang out and talk about whatever. and I’m excited to see where that goes. Below is a picture of my studio, where I’ve been teaching out of since 2016. Look forward to getting to know everyone and making new friends!

@Sean Christiansen thanks for having me here🤘 yes rgt is UK based and run by the London college of music. It's goes from grade 1 to 8 and then there's a teaching exam🤘
Always practice to a beat.
Practice sessions are usually pretty hard to listen to, but they help me correct phrasing problems and rhythm issues, especially if I've neglected using a backing track or metronome for a while.
Always practice to a beat.

Got Guitars? Post Some Of Them!
I myself have some fairly unique guitars that have just come my way over a lifetime of playing. Nothing too exotic, I have never wanted a guitar so nice, that I was worried about scratching it. Years ago I bought Me a Suhr Model S3 with the same pickup set Guthrie Govan had on his Signature model at the time. Loved that guitar, but it was too nice for Me. I always worried about scratching it. Ultimately I sold it, but it was nice while I had it. No shade against Suhr; I just can’t play a too high end guitar that looks like breathtaking art as well. I have some brands maybe some of you have heard of? Topping my list, are my Reverends, I have 3 of them or is it 4? Love those guitars. I have a Flatroc, a 10th Anniversary Jetstream in sparkle silver, and a Sensei in Flame maple. Might have another one still, but I have at least those 3. I have a Lace California Twister. Its probably not well known or gone up in value but it was made by the guy that does the Lace Pickups on the old Fenders. He had an idea to slightly twist the neck at an angle that would reduce wrist flexation and avoid carpal tunnel. It works. It’s a bit different. Ultimately I don’t think it really took off with people. I have a DiPinto Bacchus Archtop Guitar. Maybe some of you have heard of Chris DiPinto I have an old Mosrite Celebrity 3, and that has all kinds of mojo. I have three Breedloves, upper midline stuff, all lovingly played, and it shows, over the years. One is a Nylon String with a Fishman preamp. I have some G&L guitars as well as a Bass I have an old Gibson Parlor Guitar I have an old Guild Semi Hollowbody, courtesy of my Dad. I think it’s a 1961. Not sure My most recent pickup a couple months ago was a Jeff Senn Model One, put out by Eastwood. Eastwood is a nice Mid level brand. I’m sure there’s more, but that’s a start! How about you? What axes do you play and love (or hoard)? 🤫
