Hey everyone,
My name in Karl, I am 38. After years in the print industry, my life was set, boring but set. Dec 2019 I was involved in a car accident, a life changing accident. After many months in hospital learning to walk and talk again, I was trapped in my mind alot and decided I didnt want a boring life anymore. I pick up my pencil and started drawing again, something I've not done since school. I had an arm sleeve but nothing else. Today im covered, a full body suit, hands an a few face tattoos. I fell in love with tattooing. About 11 months ago I bought a cheap amazon machine and started a course, ben fisher course if anyone's heard of it. In these 11 months ive practice loads on fake skins and a few family members and my wife lent me their skin.. Im obsessed with everything tattooing, the history the present and my future in this industry.. So thats me, Hi guys. Please see a few things ive done this year.

@Steve Kretz no, im self taught am just lucky enough to have a wife to allow me to use one of our downstairs rooms as my own studio. Some of the pics I shared would have been in my frontroom.. I tattooed all the traditional tattoos on the pics on my own leg, in the frontroom while watching TV with my wife.. Its hard to say where im struggling as im so fresh into this. My line work isn't great, shading needs to me smoother, contrast and my values need to get better. I'd say my 3rl stipple is my strongest atm. The nun and kneeling knight were both done 3rl only. I go to deep lining i know, don't stretch skin good enough sometimes and try rush the line and shading process alot which makes it worse or inconsistent line weights.. But im obsessed tattooing, hence my room. I practice every night when my kids go to bed. Watch every tattoo upload on youtube. I need to slow down and be more patient with the process and realise a great tattoo takes longer that an hour or two.
