What did I want to be when I grew up?
I'm not actually sure!! Is that goosey enough?!😁🤪 and I took until my second year of college to decide on a degree which then I got and it's been useful but never worked in that field. So instead I will tell you about my origin story which starts back with my great-grandparents who homesteaded in North Dakota and my grandfather during that time every day picked new plants or flowers for his mom my great-grandmother. Then in 1912 after they lived in Utah they took horse and buggy back to Wisconsin and on the way both my great-grandmother and my grandfather collected plants and flowers and pressed them. And I actually just found those pressed flowers last year so they're a 113 years old and sitting in my house. My great-grandmother was also a writer And wrote an amazing journal and other stories from her life. When I grow up I'd love to publish them and share her story of what it was like in the late 1800s. My grandfather went on to become the very young executive director My grandfather went on to become the very young executive director and professor of landscape architecture at the university of WisconsinOf the arboretum which is regionally famous for its restored prairie and its lilac gardens, and professor of landscape architecture at the university of Wisconsin, And eventually the head of the department. My father, his son, Tot landscape architecture for 39 years and also was the professor to lead the internship at Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater for 40 years. He also founded the West Virginia botanic garden and was the executive director until he retired. My dad was also an early tech adopter which is where I get my tech interest from. He brought computer-aided a design into the landscape architecture department in the 1980s. So all of this weaves into my life with adventure, Entrepreneurial spirit, Botanical and nature and gardening interest, And also the tech side. So I've recently rebranded as The Tech Gardener. My school community is a specialty garden focused on all things streaming TV. How that came about is another story and you'll have to join the community to hear that. I've attached a few pictures from my current garden which keeps me sane and gives me exercise and also yummy organic greens and vegetables.
