Dealing with AI Haters
So I had a client recently message me that they’ve decided they no longer can work with me because I use AI. Before I go further I want to say they were extremely kind and nice about their approach in bringing it up, so that’s not the issue. They said their main issue with it is the environmental concerns and the way it hurts creatives. They’re still a great person and I still care for them as I do most clients. I talked to them and shared that for me I treat AI as a tool and don’t personally use it much for design ideation. But as a designer in a tech related field, it’s impossible to not get behind it. Why I’m posting is because I honestly feel this person’s take is super ignorant. They literally sent me their concerns via IG from their iPhone, which just led me to get mad because they probably use so much AI without realizing it. I tend to work with clients that care about important issues deeply, but they’re not always fully educated on what they’re choosing to believe. Anyways, I want to be able to have a solid convo with people if this comes up in the future. Thank you for any and all advice.

@Vatsal Sood I think you bring up a good point here. But as like in politics, giving people rational information does not move the needle on their opinions for the most part if they've taken a stance already. But, to the bottom line here, AI is here to stay and it's making all of our lives more creative because we don't need to grind on things that are a time suck. @Alex McGinness my guess is that you won't win that perception issue with that client. I'm old enough to remember when people said (this is no joke) "Ah, the internet, what a fad. It's not going to last." yep. WTF.
FUN AI WIN! ✨
I had a client ask to use one of our designs for a mosaic photo wall at their trade show booth. Instead of just sending the file, I used AI to create a mockup of a trade show booth wall with our design made out of Polaroid-style photos. It helped them visualize the activation, made the concept feel premium, and allowed me to confidently charge a licensing fee for a design we’d already created! The prompt: Create an image of a trade show booth wall designed as a mosaic made of hundreds of Polaroid-style photos, arranged to form a bold and graphic image. The booth is set up inside a large, modern convention center with overhead lighting, a clean blue carpet, The mosaic wall is the main focal point, blending the Polaroids seamlessly into the design. Industrial yet polished aesthetic, built to impress attendees.

Clickable Email Signature!
Just used ChatGPT to create a fully clickable, professional email signature for Gmail and it actually looks GOOD! I gave it: ✅ My company logo - used imgur to get public links for images ✅ My title + info ✅ Social media icons with links - made in canva then uploaded to imgur ✅ Spacing/styling requests like a pro marketer would want It generated the HTML, helped me test the layout in Gmail (which can be annoying 😅), and even tweaked line spacing and icon order until it looked perfect. No coding knowledge needed, just back-and-forth prompts! Prompt: “Make me a clickable HTML email signature for Gmail with social icons and a CTA button.” Game. Changer.
