Day 24 - Creator Breakthrough Series (Batch Filming & Workflow Simplified)
I am all for this one especially when Alexa refers to batching "without burning out"😍. That's in the workbook. I like the idea of taping different areas on the floor if I am changing my scenery for recording. The part that feels slow and heavy is editing, of course. Removing 80% of the friction is absolutely, beautifully relieving! I'm in Love! Right now, I am not planning on changing clothes. I am getting the film work done. For the workflow, I will create my 1-page checklist even though I have something similar in Trello. But I like the idea of having it on a sheet of paper. @Jaye Brunner did this and I will too. About the assets folder, having an area for surprises is a great idea. Surprises occurring is no joke and it happens a lot. My Batch Confession: Before this Day #24 came, I "batched-watched" Days 22, 23, & 24, wrote my notes (like this one), scheduled it to be posted here in the Tribe, and I plan to do it again over the next few days. (...Transparency or TMI, I don't know, but the truth IS the truth.) Doing this is exercising my "batching muscle"💪🏾😍. And when this is all over, batching will become my habit--with delight. Why?? Because "Batching equals Freedom!!!"🙌🏾😍👏🏾🥰 Side Info: - Current Niche: Teaching Gift Basket Biz Startups - Pivoted from: Recovery from Narcissistic Abuse Gratitude Statement: Phew, oh how grateful I am to have you all by my side. I might get some side eyes on this one (because of batching) but I did it all for me, my momentum, my energy, and my interest. I wanted to keep going so I did. So to those who cheer me on this one, oh how thankful I am for you!🙏🏾❤️ Accountability Tags: @Yvette Bowlin @Jenny Sharratt @Dajana K. @Michael LeJeune @Cam F @Travel Gran @Jaye Brunner @Eddi Pinegar @Adam Tinkoff @Ricardo Solomons @Dawn Ponsford @Monika Astara Murphy @Andy Asher @Deb D @Laura Niebauer @Cat PInegar @Virgil Rucker @Lillie Handy Dominguez @Tina Lynn @Debbie Pearson @Sb Hendricks

@Lillie Handy Dominguez Thanks! We hit a moving snafu and ended up staying where we are an additional month giving me a bit more time to work with. We have now found another new place to move to and even though down near the city it is at the end of a street that can't go any farther because it is at the edge of a beautiful gorge! So my new place will have plenty of nice background available even with the privacy I need to not feel overly self conscious! I like the idea of batching for streamlining production but in this case doing it one at a time allows me to better match the intro to the actual story written instead of just generically the subject matter I know the story will cover.

@Dr. Saundra Stancil Oh thanks so much for this information! My brother takes the parts of my videos and puts them together for me and he uses DaVinci Resolve. I am going to talk to him about this. My last effort to get an intro I was happy with took over 30 takes across 3 days! It would be so much easier if I didn't need to memorize the 50 seconds or so of delivery.
A Little Celebration
I am feeling so encouraged right now. My posting schedule is every other Sunday. Usually I get a small amount of impressions the first two days and then they plateau. My views graph will have a small spike that immediately returns to the floor in a couple days until the next upload. But with my last upload my impressions are not coming in big numbers but they are still coming steadily after two weeks. My CTR for this story remains high and while the retention rate is falling as we go into colder and colder audiences it is still around 36% on an 18 minute video. I love seeing how the line on the views graph for my channel has finally defied gravity just a little bit. To me this feels like a milestone. I have gained some new subscribers and I hope to continue the momentum with the video due to post tomorrow. 🤞

Audio Quality
This is the video I have scheduled to release today. I have started doing an on screen appearance to give a brief intro to the story so that my channel is no longer faceless. I noticed with this video that my voice where I record myself talking with my phone seems clearer than my voice narrating the story which I record with a Maono podcast microphone into VoiceMemo. I am wondering if perhaps my videos would sound better if I recorded the audio of the story with video in iPhoto as well... even though I would not be using the video portion of that. My brother who puts all the parts of my video together thinks that maybe the intro voice sounds too bright or shrill to use that for the storytelling. Would anyone here be willing to please listen to a bit of the intro (it's 45 seconds long) and then compare it with a bit of the story that follows and let me know what you think? Thank you for any feedback you can give!

Tips! 💡
YouTube Killed Watch Time. Here's What Replaced It 👀
For years, the YouTube algorithm had one job. Keep people watching as long as possible. Watch time was the signal that everything else fed into. Build a long video, hold attention, and get recommended. That was the game. That game has changed, and most creators haven't caught up yet. YouTube has been running post-view surveys for years, quietly asking viewers to rate videos after watching. One to five stars. Did this feel worth your time? They collected millions of those responses and trained a machine learning model on them. That model now predicts a satisfaction score for every video on the platform, whether it was ever directly surveyed or not. The shift matters because watch time and satisfaction are not the same thing. A viewer can watch 18 minutes of a 20-minute video out of inertia and register low satisfaction. Another viewer can watch 4 minutes, get exactly what they came for, and immediately search your channel name for another video. That second viewer is worth more to your channel now than the first one. YouTube calls that post-video behaviour return to discovery. When someone finishes your video and searches for more of your content rather than closing the app, your satisfaction score goes up significantly. When someone closes the app, it is neutral to slightly negative. When someone clicks not interested, it is one of the heaviest negative signals in the model. The comment section is also being read. YouTube uses natural language processing to scan comment sentiment. A high ratio of comments expressing genuine value against comments expressing frustration or disappointment feeds directly into the satisfaction calculation. Responding to your first wave of comments matters not just for engagement but because those viewers tend to stay on YouTube longer after watching your video, which strengthens your session signal. Three practical changes worth making now. Deliver on your title promise in the first 30 seconds. Not at the eight-minute mark after a long setup. Viewers who get what they came for quickly are more likely to rewatch, share, and return. All three are positive signals.
