The Beauty of Addiction
There’s a whisper in the veins, a siren’s call, A craving that rises, a hunger enthralled. It dances like fire, fierce and untamed, A love wrapped in chains, yet never ashamed. Oh, the rush, the velvet thrill, The world dissolves, the mind stands still. Fingertips tracing the edge of delight, Chasing the sun through the longest night. It builds you up, it pulls you in, A kiss on the lips laced with sin. A promise of comfort, a lover’s embrace, A fleeting escape, a fall full of grace. Yet beauty is cruel, it comes at a cost, A shimmering dream that leaves you lost. A siren sings, but the sea runs deep, And love like this will never keep. For even the most golden chain still binds, And beauty that blinds will silence the mind. So chase the thrill, but know the toll, Addiction whispers, but it steals the soul. By Jason Strickland

@Jason Strickland thank you for sharing. I’m tired of the battles. I just want a peaceful ā€˜normal’ life now.

@Jason Strickland haha I’m only 10 years behind you at 41…. In the bible 41 is a significant number. Noah was on the arc with 40 days of rain on day 41 the rain stopped, there are other examples but my memory isn’t that good. 40 days or 40 years of tests, hardships and trials and when 41 arrives their struggles come to an end. I’ve been doing drugs on and off (mostly on) for 26 years. I’ve struggled my whole life in one way or another as far as I can remember, I’ve done my 40 years of battles. I’m now in my 41st year and god has made it almost guaranteed I’ll be heading to rehab this month. Finally. My mental and emotional health is getting stronger and better each day. I’ll be back with my son soon. I’ve started a thriving poetry community. I feel confident in my future. My 41st year is my lucky 41 as it states in the bible.
Trial ending
I've been sick with the flu the last few days im very sad as my trial will end and I won't be able to do the things I'd like to. I'm very thankful for the support of my subscribers I hope I can find a way to continue this journey.
