AI can replicate products, not relationships.
Artificial intelligence is changing the rules of business in ways that could threaten even the largest companies. Adobe is one example. Developer Brandon Thomas used AI to create ArtCraft, offering free, open-source alternatives to seven Adobe applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro. They aren't full replacements for professional tools yet, but the speed of development is remarkable. What if products that took years and millions of dollars to build could be replicated in weeks? Even the biggest companies aren't untouchable. That's why I believe strong communities will become some of the most valuable assets of the future. It wasn't a coincidence that companies like Anthropic, OpenAI and Lovable were investing in community leadership, with reported annual compensation ranging from $300,000 to $400,000 for some Head of Community roles. They weren't just hiring people to manage social media. They were investing in relationships, trust and a competitive advantage that AI couldn't easily replicate. Consider Midjourney and its 18 million people on Discord. Competitors can copy its features, build similar image generators and offer lower prices. But can they copy millions of relationships, shared history, trust and collective intelligence? I DON'T THINK SO ❌ ArtCraft directs visitors from its website straight to Discord community. Even its LinkedIn “Learn more” button takes you directly to the community, not the website. The result? 115,118 Discord members, with 26,000 active right now, versus just 2,000+ LinkedIn followers. A strong community is more than an audience. It's a network of people who share knowledge, collaborate and generate collective intelligence that no individual could easily create alone. AI can replicate products, but it can't easily replicate years of trust and relationships.

That's some great value in the post. I'll be there as this community grows and will try my best share value as much I can.

@Jakub Pacanda X is basically banned in my country. But if you feel from your past experience that for networking its an important thing, I can definitely figure out a way.
The Pulse #3: A quiet recap
This week was a quiet one, both in terms of the number of posts you shared and how the week came to a close. Even so, I sat down at my desk this evening and put together a recap of what happened across our circles over the past seven days. Not every week needs to be full of discussions and new ideas. Sometimes, a quiet community is the best sign that everything is working as it should and no one has anything that needs addressing. That's part of the beauty of a community. It doesn't have to be constantly buzzing to have value.

You're right
Focus on sustainability, retention, and margins
Through scouting, I’ve seen many communities grow rapidly through FOMO tactics, manipulation, and boosting through paid ads. Yes, they made money quickly at first, but they typically had low margins, and today they either struggle with retention or have already been archived or completely shut down.

The Pulse #2: Daniel’s nomination, Stripe community, Builders Collective Africa, AcquireCommunity launch & TrustMRR
At our second community meeting, we met with @Tomáš Tapšík, @Daniel Udofa, @Jan Jíra and @Marco Sebastian. We went through what had happened in the feed over the past week and took a closer look at several posts and activities, including those by @Rebekah Waller and @Sonia Zvereva. I also shared what I had learned from @Kaustubh Katdare. We discussed in depth why choosing the wrong community platform can ultimately become a very expensive decision, following up on the experience Marco had previously shared in his post about Slack. We also had a deeper discussion about the feelings around hiring that @Deborah Njoku brought up. Daniel then told us more about where and why he had been nominated, how the Stripe community works, and how he is building Builders Collective Africa. We also talked about the launch of our Premium community and showed how, why and for whom we are building Tapdust. Those of you who received a voucher for your contribution already have access as a reward for your contribution. At the same time, we have released the first 50 vouchers for VIP membership at $100/month instead of $2,500. The promo code is available here. Finally, we looked at TrustMRR and the brilliant way they connect startup founders.

I would love to join next meeting. At this point, I don't much care about getting money from some investor kind of thing but I wanna build networks and long-term relation and partnerships.

Yeah got it. Basically this week is the start of my networking with other people. Before it, I wasn't able to afford being into good communities and also I had fear of rejection which I overcame by first time being in community calls and presenting my thinking in front of people and it was never easy but I did it anyway. I'm not sure if this is something that worth attention as its a routine life thing that everyone experiences. But I'm working on a Tennis Planner App with one of my client as a partner and about to launch a TikTok AI host that looks just like human and able to host live on tiktok and sell while costing 2-3 dollars per hour.

We’re hiring a Collective Intelligence Analyst
This is a unique External Problem Solving collaboration within our Community Funded Research initiative, focused on the Community Industry. It’s fully remote, and we don’t care when or where you work, as long as you work when your brain works best. The workload is up to 4 hours per day because we know what cognitive overload from too much information and data feels like, as well as the emerging phenomenon of AI brain fry. Take exceptionally good care of your brain and keep it sharp as a razor. We believe protecting your mental energy is part of doing great work, not something you do after work. That’s also why we care about results, not hours. We don’t care whether you do the work yourself or use a team of AI agents. If you find a quantum hack and solve in 30 minutes what others would spend a week doing, you won’t be penalised for it. We care about quality, accuracy and usefulness. You remain responsible for the output, and the only thing we don’t tolerate is AI slop. GET PAID $2,000 PER MONTH TO HACK THE OLD SYSTEM WITH US We’re not hiring you to simply maintain what already exists. We’re looking for someone who wants to help us hack the old way of organising knowledge, talent and intelligence in the Community Industry. We’re building an open community where thousands of conversations, ideas, people, opportunities and signals are constantly being generated. The challenge is turning this chaos into structured collective intelligence that becomes more valuable over time. Your job is to help us find better, faster and smarter ways to solve this problem. You’ll help us continuously improve how we capture, organise, connect and extract value from what our members contribute. This includes: 1) Helping develop the 5 Levels of Community Investment Mastery by filtering through discussions created by our amazing members, identifying the valuable insights and hidden gems, and placing them into the right sections and subpages of the structure.

There are couple things that I would implement: 1- Personalized AI assistant for each user that learns with the passage of time for that particular user behavior, goals, what exactly from the community can help him, etc. It will be designed in a way so that it just don't gaslight the user but actually help him get better. 2- A members activity detection system that notices patterns as much we can detect like engagement into the community with a threshold if some users activity becomes low or towards zero, it may automatically reach them out to see if there's something that's bothering them cuz a lot of people just feel it uncomfortable to actually reach out support and tell their concerns. 3- Automated engagement with users: Whenever a piece of content gets uploaded to classroom or any other related way, someone posts a content, the system will have that personalized data for each person and will see who this stuff relates to and will share with them telling exactly why its shared with them. This can make the community engagement a lot better. 4- Analyzing all the posts and newer ones regularly to understand what kind of stuff is being liked by members the most, what percentage is liking them and even which members are involved in the data that is analyzed. So the groups owners can create further strategies around them as its not possible to keep eye on every post and see what people are liking. I think that's pretty much I can think right now while sitting but definitely with proper research and being dedicated to it, I can get a lot more stuff that can help cuz we just don't need to add a lot of features but at the same time we need the experience for the members smoother. I'm open to collaborate so let me know if it logically makes sense for you to work with me. One thing I would say is that I can't stay in a limited environment. This personality trait never allowed me to do a job or a specific work without growth for a long passage of time. The only thing I'm addicted to is consistent growth. No matters if the numbers or data makes sense or not.
