I am new to this group, I am a Master Electrician in Colorado, and just got my Contractors license, and started my own company. my last company basically fired me for getting my masters license so I said what the heck, why work for someone else? I started Iron Mose Electric the day I got fired. named after my black Labrador Mose. I have a lot of experience in being a foreman on commercial jobs but no experience in business, so here I am starting the 2nd apprenticeship nobody tells you about. I've spent the last three weeks setting up the company, creating the brand, the website, and applying with general contractors and construction companies to be an approved electrician to take some bids. its pretty quiet here in my home office as I've had one lead and is now my total finances for the future, $1600. I've got enough in personal savings for the next year of bills, and luckily my wife is still working, but slow start is the name of the game. I am probably going to have to start with small resi service jobs till cash flow grows unless I take a SBA loan to bid on some smaller commercial jobs. anybody here ever use PlanHub? thinking of getting but has a big upfront cost. any advice / encouragement y'all want to share will be much appreciated.
