See a Coffee cup on the dashboard?
Yes, vanlife can feel lonely, especially when the rain starts falling, the cold sets in, and the nights grow longer. Whether you’re parked up alone or surrounded by seniors in white campervans watching satellite dish TV, you can use this sign as a “feel free to knock” invitation, even if your blinders are closed due to cold or privacy. Let fellow vanlifers know you’re open to sharing a coffee, a beer, or merely the view. Enjoy a good conversation, make some music, or learn a fun (and maybe useless) skill together 🙃 Feel free to knock!

@Daniela Gardete mostly about the cup, Which is a conversation starter on it’s own. Then this idea came to me, now starting a new signal. ☕️

Heating 💥
I don’t have a van yet….but I would like to know if being warm enough in winter while asleep is an issue?

@Rens van Daalen no heater during the night, it’s just a waste of energy in my opinion. I stay at cp’s, at farms, people’s “welkom op mijn oprit” fb group or vrijcamperen places. Or wild when comfortable. What are your sources of finding spots to stay?

@Daniela Gardete oh, that’s tough. I can recommend some Chinese diesel heaters, that go under €100. Building in is simple, and well worth the time and effort.plenty of yt videos on how to…It’s as big as a shoebox, and makes all the difference.
Living in my camper and working in the Netherlands
Hi all. Hope to meet you in some nice backyard or historical spot in the Netherlands: I live in my campertruck when I’m working in theaters all throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. Noticed the coffee cup on the dashboard ? It’s a sign to feel free to knock at the door and we”ll have a coffee drink together, sharing stories or the view. hope to meet you! Justin.

Theatertechnician. Light or stagemanager mostly. The coffee cup is a vanlife "feel free to knock"- sign to tell people you're open for invitations, instead of sitting alone while having your blinders shut because it's either wintertime & cold or you don't want to be visible to the whole parkinglot because it's dark outside and bright inside. You know the feeling....
