Hi! My name is Julie Ioannidou, from Greece. My dance school name is horotaxio Pun,play on words (horos / χορός=dance in greek) (χώρος= space χωροτάξιο= space, land planning So horotaxio is the place where dancers built, elevate and grow Biggest strength? I value every student and give them the opportunity to grow. Strong final performances with intention and dramaturgy. Biggest weakness? Investing more in the artistic and don't act as entrepreneur. Party trick? Fall and recovery! My goal? To grow my school. I need tools. Practical tools. Artistry is my brand but it doesn't bring me more students.. Happy to be here.
Tickets and costumes
I am new here..Do you have parents complaining for buying a ticket for the show? I explain to them that we have to cover some of the costs. They also don't want to pay for video or photos, and they complain about buying costumes. I try to keep the cost of costumes very low and in most of my dance shows we get settled with casual cloths and using imagination.

@Harriet Barlow I agree. I was looking for good marketing solution. The parents buy two tickets and the DVD of their child dancing actually for 2,5 minutes. I had it separate the last years. Most of them chose not to pay for the video. So I've decided to put a higher ticket cost so I can cover photos and video and give to them "free"

@Laura Jaggar Thank you for your time answering. It took me some time not to feel guilty. I am in the process now. Just a quick question to understand it right. The parents pay 50 for the participation. They rent the costumes but they take the money back if it is returned intact. So actually they don't pay nothing for it. But they buy tickets, the recording of the show and so on. In our case. They buy the costume if it is needed. The maximum cost is 45 euros. And then they pay each 5 euros ticket for the show. I would like to charge them for the recording. But here what is happening now. One buys it (download it from the drive) and gives it to the rest of the parents. It is a possible scenario. Maybe not to all the parents of the class but to the most closed ones of them Ahh..it's so complicated. And stressful. Just trying to find the money for a good performance. Anyway, I'll try to adjust some of all the great examples that have been given here. And again, thank you for your time
Grateful

We danced in Rome!!
Well we’ve done it. My dance school has danced in Rome! My brain is still trying to process it. We had a fantastic time albeit eventful. however, I’m now looking at where else we could perform next? Does anyone have any recommendations? We don’t want competitions, just somewhere for our children and adults to perform.
