Really helpful video! I’m guilty of just trying it right away… I find it hard for me to visualize doing it and I often rely on watching someone else do it first. I like what you said about thinking of direction of pull. I’ve put it to use and it’s been working great so far, especially because there is often not always someone for me to watch.
How Has Climbing Changed Your Health?
Just curious. I found when I started climbing often I started caring about what I ate, how late I stayed out and how much I drank for example. It definitely helped me become a healthier person in general. Anyone else find the same? How have you seen climbing impact your overall health?

Exercise has always been a big part of my life but climbing is something that is really a full body workout and it’s something I don’t get as much from my other forms of exercise. So I’ve found my body overall is just stronger. It also helps me sleep better in general but I make more of an effort to prioritize my sleep so that I can climb well.
How did you start climbing?
I always love asking people this story, curious what got you all in this crazy world

I did a climbing camp when I was really young but never thought anything of it. It was cool, but was just another summer camp. And then in 3rd year of university, my school got a climbing wall and I remembered liking it so I wanted give it a go and it really stuck with me. I’ve now met really cool people and hope I can do it for a very long time.

1. Home gym is The Pad in Binghamton, NY. I travel to Washington DC quarterly and still determining a "home away from home" gym (movement crystal city is what I'm leaning towards) 2. Hoping to learn technique. I'm at the point where I know the basics but I want to have a more refined climbing style. 3. I want to flash a v3 climb this year. I can flash v2s at home and at other gyms but I definitely need multiple sessions to figure out the v3 routes. 4. I love the puzzle aspect. Mentally it gets me off of screens and I spend an hour just being present in what I'm doing.

@Logan Langley I like the screen comment too! I am notoriously bad at being on my phone 😅
Intro
Hi everyone, nice to meet you! I’m currently climbing around southern Ontario. I’m just finishing up my bachelors degree. I’m hoping to learn more about climbing and keep getting better. I am looking forward to this small community and learning more about climbing around the world. A climbing goal is to comfortably climb 5.11+. I love climbing because it’s physical but builds functional muscles as opposed to just aesthetic and is problem solving.
