Hot Weather and Slowing Down
This heatwave here in the UK has certainly felt extreme. We're just not a country that's really set up for these temperatures! One thing it has made me appreciate, though, is the life I've built. I've been able to slow down, listen to my body, and only do what's really necessary. We're lucky to have a big, mature birch tree in our garden that creates the most wonderful patch of shade for our family. The difference in temperature is incredible as soon as you step beneath its branches. It reminds me just how valuable our trees are—not just for wildlife, but for us too. I've attached some photos, before the sun rises above the tree. I've enjoyed the sunshine, but after a very hot night and not much sleep, I have to admit... I'm quite looking forward to a drop in temperature! Over the past few days I've seen a few clients, worked on my Self-heal mini-course, read a few chapters of books, and even managed the occasional afternoon nap. It feels like nature has been reminding me to work with the season rather than against it. How have you found the heat? Have you been loving it, or counting down until the cooler weather returns? And I do wonder... are air conditioning companies in the UK suddenly going to be the busiest ever? 😄🌿

I'm lucky to be able to stay at home in the cool. The trees have grown so high around me that not so much sunlight gets in, but with the thick farm Sandstone walls I've been able to keep a little cooler. Really pleasant working in the farmshop yesterday in the air con at 16°c (because of the chill cabinets and freezers). I did try hanging thick damp tea towels on coat hangers by some open windows but I'm not sure if it helped or just added to the already high humidity! I have picked some fig leaves off my tree and I might try the fig leaf sorbet or granite. Fig leaf tea tastes of coconut. I've been loving the unsweetened Vita coconut water chilled. I believe it helps to restore electrolytes that have been lost to the weather. Ooh it's just clouding over, maybe we'll get another thunder storm. There was a massive thunder clap very early this morning (27th June) that woke me up. I am in Kent.

🌞 Summer Solstice Circle - Tonight 🌞 Now Open To EVERYONE 💚
Yesterday I spent a beautiful afternoon with a group of wonderful women honouring the season. Together we created a seasonal altar, walked the hedgerows, explored the abundance all around us, practised breathwork, shared stories and took time to simply slow down and be present. It reminded me of something I believe deeply: We are not meant to rush through life disconnected from nature, ourselves or one another. We are meant to gather. To celebrate. To reflect. To mark the turning points of the year. And that's exactly what we'll be doing tonight. ✨ As a special Summer Solstice gift, tonight's live circle is OPEN TO EVERYONE in the Rooted in Nature community. Together we'll explore the meaning of the Solstice, reflect on what is flourishing in our lives, share seasonal wisdom and take part in a gentle Solstice ritual. If you'd like to join us, simply click on the CALENDAR TAB at the top of the community and select the Summer Solstice Circle event. 🌿 Can't make it live? The recording will be available afterwards for Premium members, alongside: ☀️ The growing Earth Magic course 🌙 Monthly Moon Circles 🔥 Seasonal Wheel of the Year gatherings 🍃 Your Wild Food Year course 🔮 Crystal Wisdom Course I've also been busy creating new content for all members, including: 🌸 A Self-Heal mini-course ☀️ A very special community challenge to help us build a simple daily ritual and deepen our connection with nature (More on that very soon...) For now, I'd love you to join me this evening as we honour the longest day of the year together. Blessings from the Hedgerow, Lea 🌿✨ ☀️ What is flourishing in your life right now?
