@Joshua Cohen I rediscovered this film while showing it to kids at a community centre as a kind of prophecy for social media. It blew their minds. In discussing it, they made me realise how much the film is, on a human level, about being manipulated, kept under control, and ultimately overcoming that.
I’ve just realised that many of my personal favourite films touch on post-traumatic growth. I rewatched Upstream Color (2013) by Shane Carruth, which has long been a favourite of mine. If anyone else has seen it, I’d love to hear how you experienced it. For me, the film embodies a symbolic journey through trauma, identity loss and regaining connection.
