Solar deal Funded $$$$ 106,250 $$$ Commission
This is a great time to help solar companies get funded for their projects so they can take advantage of the tax credits that are offered; they are massive!!! I have a client who runs a Solar company and requested 3.7 million dollars for their project. I almost lost the deal because the client had a misunderstanding about the tax credits and the timeline they have to start or finish the project to be able to take advantage of credits. It is very important you have the right professionals surrounding you who are always sharpening their sword. My client received the wrong information from his accountant. I could have given up there because it is harder to overcome objections when a client is getting the wrong information from a trusted professional like an accountant. This client thought that they missed the deadline to take advantage of tax credits that would amount to just over 700k for this deal. The accountant only paid attention to the date that was given as the last day to begin project to qualify for tax credits and either didn't read the entire bill or misinterpreted it and did not understand the accelerated federal rule which allows for credits as long as solar is placed in service no later than December 31, 2027. For those of you who know, know this is similar to what happened with the ERC. Accountants and book keepers where to lazy to want to understand the law surrounding the qualifications for a client and many business owners missed out on 100's of thousands of dollars if not millions. I fought hard to inform the client over and over sending over the information and even meeting with his accountant who actually said I was misinformed. It wasn't until I brought on a member of my team Celeste who is a cost accountant which equals tax strategist and not just a person who files taxes. This deal was not easy and it took almost 3 1/2 months to get done. City National Bank in Los Angeles, CA is who finally got the deal done with their Renewable Energy Group. I had to negotiate a seller note of 500k, got a Senior Project Acquisition loan 3.1M, borrower equity was 425k, Capex was 400k. I got them more than they asked me initially for.
