Many years ago, even as a child raised in a Bible believing and Pentecostal church. I used to be kind of drawn to the idea of “awakening” seeing deeper, understanding more, tapping into something beyond the surface. And to be honest some of it felt real. But there was one question I couldn’t shake: If I’m the one opening myself up, how do I know what I’m actually opening myself up to? Not everything spiritual is automatically good just because it feels powerful. That thought stayed with me. What changed everything for me wasn’t gaining more control, it was encountering something (someone) that didn’t come from me. Real peace. Not forced. Not maintained. Just…there. I didn’t expect it to lead me to Jesus the way it did. But it did and it was different than anything I tried before.
