Welcome! Introduce yourself + share a pic of your training space
Glad you're here! This community is built for coaches, CSCS candidates, and performance-minded professionals who take their craft seriously. 👉 In your first post, tell us: - Who you are and what you do - Where you're at in your CSCS journey (or if you're already certified, what you're working on now) - A fun fact—either about your coaching, your training, or just something that makes you you - And post a photo of your training space—whether it’s a garage gym, college weight room, or the local fitness club. We want to see it! This is your space to level up, get real answers, and connect with others who are serious about performance—let’s raise the standard together.

Hey everyone! My name is Josh. I’ve been coaching Olympic weightlifting for 4 years now at a local barbell club here in San Diego. I’ve been an athlete of the sport for close to 12 years and have competed locally on and off throughout those years. I have my undergrad in Applied Health Science from PLNU and had the privilege of having Dr. Goodin as a professor/advisor during my time there. The goal is to become a Physician Assistant while holding my CSCS to bridge the gap between weightlifting and S&C. CSCS has been on my track board for some time now but with recent life updates, it continues to get pushed back. Wife being pregnant with our first baby, overnight shifts as an ER Tech, PA program apps, coaching and finding the time to spend with my 4 year old GSD - things can feel a little overwhelming at times but Philippians 4:13! The goal by the end of this year is to obtain the CSCS. Fun fact - I recently dropped 160kg clean onto my thighs during comp prep. It caused a large indentation on my left rec fem. After the incident, my leg got really tight and knee flexion was a little painful. 2 days later, my thigh has some slight bruising but by the grace of God, I’m able to walk away pretty much unscathed from it. We live to fight another day!
