From my experience the real challenge for modellers comes with reverse engineering and it is significantly harder to get standard drawings of complex components for surface reverse engineering and even with point snapping on working with Scanned data is the future. (if this was parametric modelling then blueprint makes sense ... not for plasticity type workflows)
