Stripped Enough?
been refinishing an old pedestal table. removing the old oil-based stain has been a war. do these look stripped enough to go to sanding? sanding has been a challenge with the curves. first project, want to make sure i’m on the right path. thanks!

is TSP needed only if i’m oil staining? or denatured alcohol work the same? was considering gel-stain to help coverage but would prefer to oil stain again.

@Aaron Moore thank you, will wash out the pores. any brand recs for staining oak with oil based stains are greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the Refinisher Roadmap!
I’m Aaron Moore, and I’ve been in the refinishing trade for over 20 years. This group is built for one simple purpose: to help more people master the art of furniture restoration — whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been sanding and spraying for years. Here’s what you’ll find inside: 🛠 The Refinisher’s Roadmap Basic Series — Member-only videos to help you build a rock-solid foundation 💬 Community Support — Ask your questions, get advice, and learn from others who are in the trenches 📣 Promote Your Work — Share your before-and-afters, projects, or even your business (we support growth!) 🔐 Important Reminder — Please do not download or share any course content outside this group. Doing so will result in immediate removal. 👇 Let’s break the ice: • Where are you located? • How long have you been refinishing? • What’s one tool or product you can’t live without? Make yourself at home — and let’s keep this craft alive and growing.

hi, located in downtown Chicago, attempting to learn refinishing in the city with limited space after learning woodworking techniques for the last year+. recently bought a home and thought refinishing would be better than buying junk online. it’s much more rewarding anyway. working on a table rn and hoping the community can help me with some pointers, thanks!
