Hello everyone. I am Teresa currently living in SW Florida. I have been the owner of a Tax firm for 15 years and licensed insurance agent maybe 8 years. I have honestly not sold insurance at all in maybe 3 years. I am looking to get excited about the insurance industry so that I can strategically cross sell my current book of business from the tax firm.
@Jeremiah Coltart Welcome and thanks for sharing. I would recommend sitting with several companies and seeing what is the best fit. Things to consider. OWNERSHIP of clients and agency (ask to see it in writing not just word of mouth), mentorship - do you connect well with the person and have they already see some success. If they haven't then its like the blind leading the blind. Finally, transparency and honesty. If they can't explain how the commission works and cant show commission cheques to back there statements then I would offer caution. Its a fantastic industry but unfortunately there is a lot of smoke and mirrors and lies out there. Stay sharp my friend and hope you are able to find the right fit.
