Diamond to Champ
I am Diamond 2 right now and was wondering if it is enough to get more consistent at what I already can do, which is nothing fancy (speed-flip, basic dribbling, rotations, defense and power-shots), and 'just' learn Direction Air Roll to get to Champ or if I need other mechanics too.

@Finn Herten Sounds relatively 'easy' to get champ. I mean getting more consistent with power-shots, doing air-roll-shots and doing basic flicks (I hope diagonal front and 45 degree count as simple, as those would be the two I would learn first) doesn't sound all too hard.

@Finn Herten I know the flick in the link I attached is not perfect and rather is a disaster, but I wanted to ask if this is one of the basic flicks you meant. https://streamable.com/kvm80p Edit: I can do it like 35 percent of the time, but I can't get the setup quick enough in game. How can I make that quicker?
Is it wrong?
I’m about to get a new controller, and it has buttons that I can customize on the back. If I perform a speed flip and put it onto one of the buttons and just use that for every kick off, is it wrong to do that? Because I can only hit a speed flip about 10% of the time. Because I’m still a gold.

@Abner Onifer If you record it when you successfully do it and then can redo that with a press of a button is a macro if I am not wrong now. Probably not a bad person, but also not a per se good one too. It would then be cheating or rather a unfair advantage.

@Abner Onifer I actually do not have any, except repetition. I mean I learnt it pretty much that way. I started learning it at Gold 3 and did my first perfect one, in which I hit the ball in the training pack (A503-264C-A7EB-D282) in Platinum 3. I probably spend about 7 hours of training and repeating the speed flip. Why not do the front flip or diagonal flip instead, I mean it is easier and you can always just come back to it later.
Been a While
I haven’t played Rocket League in some time, but a friend recently got me back into it. After playing for about a week, I’ve decided I want to hit Diamond again. Right now, I’m Plat 2 and just finished my placement matches. Before my break, I didn’t care too much about my rank. I wanted to improve and get a higher rank, but I played ranked for anything, whether I was in a casual or competitive mood. Now that I got back, what’s the best way to do it?
Misjudging Ranks
Is it normal that I underrate like Plats and Diamond but very much overrate Champs and maybe even Grand Champ 1s? For me are GC 1s are just like GC 3s but with less consistency at those flashy shots and Plats/Diamonds are those inconsistent players that can't hold a normal power shot.
Rank to Carry in Dia 2
What rank do I need to be to play 1v2 in Dia 2 or play with lower rated people and still win the majority of the games?

@Mikael Hellman Well I'm also stuck but not p3 - d1 more like p2 div 2 most of the time and the rest like p1, p3 and not d1. I may try improving at defense and maybe I also watch replay's even tho I don't like watching them because it's kind of boring.

@Michael Miranda Thanks. I'll try that.

I'm just an ordinary person seeking to improve my skills in Rocket League and becoming more skilled at this game.
