You are not alone. Even if it feels like you are.
During my own dark night of the soul, I felt profoundly lonely. I truly believed I was the only person experiencing that level of emotional pain and mental anxiety. Every time an old childhood wound was triggered, it felt like I was drowning in an ocean of emotions with no shore in sight. I tried to hide it. After all, we are taught that it's not "appropriate" or "professional" to show our pain—not even to ourselves. So I kept going. Smiling on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside. I clung to anything that promised relief. Sometimes I found healthy tools. Other times, I returned to old destructive patterns, unhealthy relationships, overgiving, or simply trying to outrun the pain. For years, I repeated the same cycles. At the time, conventional psychotherapy helped me understand parts of my story, but it wasn't reaching the deepest roots of my suffering—the unconscious beliefs I carried about myself, love, money, safety, and my worth. Everything began to change when I discovered Shadow Work. I realized that my suffering wasn't just coming from life circumstances. It was coming from the unconscious programs running beneath my awareness. Little by little, I coached myself out of that web of limiting beliefs. I changed the relationship I had with myself. And my life changed with it. That journey eventually became my life's work. For more than 20 years, I've been helping others as a Psycho-Somatic Therapist and Shadow Work Coach. I've written Conversations with Fear, Shadow Work: The Mirror Method, and Light Codes to help people recognize the hidden beliefs that create suffering—and learn how to transform them. Whether you view this as psychological healing, spiritual growth, or both, many people experience periods in life where old identities begin to fall away. These transitions can be painful, but they also create an opportunity to build a new way of relating to yourself and the world. The challenge is that our deepest beliefs live in the subconscious.
