Accountability #7
We're starting something new here, if you didn't see the posts the last few weeks. Public accountability. This is an opportunity to publicly share the progress on your goals. Use this as a tool to expect more from yourself as well as see the progress in others. - Did you achieve what you set out to do over the last week? - What are your tasks for the upcoming week? - Any blockers you need to push through? Last week - Two companies have called me to enter in their selection process. So, I had different interviews - 3 on each at the moment. - I had to review SQL's concepts in order to nail one of the selection process. - I've started to read the book "The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction" by William Shotts in order to get deeper into Linux concepts besides what I've learned from Caleb's Fundamentals. This week - Main goal: to finish the before mentioned book with good notes taken on Obsidian., - Once done with the book, to install Arch Linux in an old machine that I have. I hope it helps to put into practice what I've learned.

Last week: I've done some lessons of the Software Engineering Fundamentals and I've watched the first video of the vault - I do recommend to watch it โ˜บ๏ธ. Since I've taken boot.dev's roadmap as my own, and CodeBreakthrough to fill gaps, I've started to learn Functional Programming with the help of Elixir. So, I've watched and done CodeBreakthrough Elixir's course to have an idea about the language. This week: My goal is to read the book Learn Functional Programming with Elixir and to apply to a couple of entry level jobs that I've seen available in Spain that Elixir is required ๐Ÿ˜„. The other goal is to continue watching videos of the Vault from CodeBreakthrough ๐Ÿ’ช

Well, unfortunately I couldn't do anything. My fiancรฉ and I were on holidays so practically I could only watch concepts about functional programming in Python... Next week I'll be back to my routine, so I'll have time to do some stuff to get better at software engineering: - To complete the functional programming part with Python. - To build an AI Agent in Python - it's a guided project that I've found. - To learn DS and Algorithms with Codebreakthrough's Python Mastery course. - To build a static site generator in Python. These are my goals for this week. They're subjected to changes depending on Caleb's new content on Monday 18th ๐Ÿ˜. I'm really looking forward to it ๐Ÿ™Œ

I could finish a couple of Python courses in boot.dev and I've stopped until I finish some courses in CodeBreakthrough platform. So, I'll resume Software Engineering Fundamentals until I finish it. That's my only goal for next week. If I finish it on midweek, I'll tackle Python Mastery's course.

Hey! Last week... sort of I could achieve goals! I had to edit my roadmap. Even though I do like C language, and Caleb's course is really interesting, the job market reality in my area shows that Python is still the king. So, I've started to review Python stuff. I'll continue learning C/C++ once I get a new job in the area that soon I'm going to live with my fiancee. This week's goals are: - To finish the "Getting started" section in the fundamentals course. - To watch the "Beginner programming" section as a way to review concepts. - To develop a small project with Python with the concepts learned.
