7 contributions to Profit Architecture
It all started with….
Hello Brilliant Creators! Can you share your stories about how you got started in creating online courses and content? Actual first steps? (Ie: buy a camera, light, mic, join kajabi?). I am going through the mindset and champagne client and evergreen engines modules. I’ve seen clients 1:1 for over a decade. I’m picking out tech, writing the courses, going through profit architecture videos and much of it I know I’d understand better if I had been in the virtual business space or had any previous content to reference. I might need a 1:1 mentor. I’d love to hear your stories! Thank you!

I've been creating courses for about 10 years, and I keep mine super simple! I only have a fancy camera/lighting setup because I also do YouTube. But my courses are mostly just simple Loom recordings of me going over a Google Doc (with some visuals peppered in) with no fancy lighting, just me speaking into a simple Blue microphone. I think it's great to start out really simple with a minimum viable product! IMO, the most important thing to get right at first is your offer (including the copy/positioning) and the launch emails. Everything else can be improved later! :) But LMK if you have any other specific Qs on anything.
Livechat Widget Thingie?
What's everyone's favorite sales page live chatbot thingie-on-a-sales-page? 😍 @Team Mariah used to use ZenDesk and that's what's in Evergreen Engines. But there are a Looooot of good ones out there now, I know, with AI n'such. Suggestions? @Tre Glover? Beuller? THANKS!

I like Videoask :)
Switching to Klarna/Afterpay?
I've noticed a lot of creators moving payment plans to Klarna/Afterpay (instead of a SamCart payment plan, for example)! Does this help reduce people saying "I need to cancel my subscription" and then going delinquent? Does Klarna/Afterpay take care of that process for you/penalize folks for failing to pay? Also... can anyone tell me about setting Klarna/Afterpay up with SamCart/courses etc. and how difficult/complicated it is on the tech side? This seems like something that could really reduce missed payments, so I'm excited to see about implementing it! 🎉 Thank you!

@Mariah Coz thanks for this!! Would love a breakdown of how you use it. I offered Klarna on a flash sale and several people used it, which was great! I also have an evergreen webinar funnel converting well, but people keep failing to pay on their payment plans, so I want to swap that to Klarna too, or at least offer it as an option where the incentive is to save $$ since I’m not adding on extra like a regular payment plan… any thoughts on how to implement that? 3 different CTA pricing buttons seems like a lot. Right now I have one CTA button to check out (in house payment plan OR pay in full) and next to that is a Videoask thing to answer questions (kinda like how you use social selling!) which I want to keep… but if I have one button per CTA, it’s 4 CTAs on the sales page (Klarna, pay in full, payment plan, and VideoAsk 😅) Related q: any reason you’re using Stripe checkouts for Klarna/Afterpay and not SamPay to offer it directly on the SamCart checkout page? I’m thinking about exploring SamPay as an option but curious if there’s any reason I shouldn’t!

@Mariah Coz thanks for the link! That’s interesting. I’m trying to figure out if the new stripe account is enough of an issue for me to avoid using SamPay… is there something I should be considering when deciding this?
Task Management
I have tried out several apps for this - to varying degrees of success but I always fall back to Google Docs (one main document with my priority projects and then, if needed, additional documents to break those tasks into actionable steps with checkboxes) -- deadlines stress me out but also hold my feet to the fire. I started setting up Google Tasks with recurring events for repeatable things and looked into TasksBoard which reminds me of Trello. And that got me back into my rabbit hole - Trello, Asana, Clickup, Notion. Though I lean towards the, "not broke, don't fix it" and realize how often I've fallen back to Google Docs; any recommendations and/or what's worked best for you? Should also preface, I have ADHD so visually being able to see the shit I need to do is key and also not overestimating my ability to complete said things in a timely manner.

I use Canva whiteboards! It’s the only thing that works for my brain. Big tasks and deadlines still go in google calendar, but the breakdown into smaller tasks/flows is in Canva Whiteboards :) I love being able to have a bird’s eye view of everything and all my links in ONE place.
2+ Webinar Embeds on Long Sales Page
I write direct response sales pages for my courses, so they're pretty long but effective. I'm curious if there are any downsides to having 2 webinar embeds on my course sales page (one at the top, obviously, and then one probably 75% of the way down, with a specific timestamp called out in that section). I'd like to see about doing this to overcome some objections on the page! For example, one of my audience's objections is "I don't know enough about copywriting to start freelance writing" and I overcome that in my webinar. I would put a second embed in this section and call out the time stamp where I overcome that objection + tie it to the copy in that section. (I also thought about putting clips of the webinar 3-4 times through the page in sections specifically meant to overcome certain objections... could be a cool way to give people a glimpse of the video and get them to watch the whole thing. Thoughts?) Any considerations here? Any reasons why I should *not* do this?
