This is exactly how I got my foot in the door at spoiled salon! I was currently finishing up my schooling at elite beauty school and at my school we were able to intern to lessen our hours so I came in and shadowed under the amazing stylist at the salon and then spoke to management about starting to work there as front desk until I'm licensed. Which honestly I feel helped me even more understand that back part of booking appointments, client communication, and understanding timing for services. In down time of being front desk I would shadow the stylist in services and ask questions. Once I got fully licensed I moved into an associate role and that was the best thing I could’ve done for my career! I got to shadow under 3 amazing seasoned stylist who to this day have formed me as a stylist and for that I am so thankful. I would say until you get licensed I would try and find a front desk job, understand the inner workings of the booking site and client communication and if the salon you work at is fine with you shadowing stylist while being front desk do it, shadow as much as you can, then find a good associate program. I definitely recommend Spoiled salon for there’s as you work under such knowledgeable stylist, as well as get to work with an amazing team and have amazing education. Just know to be always open to learning new methods and always ask questions if something isn’t making sense. Hope this helps you on your journey!
