I succeeded with Studicata
I passed the CA and FL bar exams on first attempt thanks to Michael and particularly the Bar Blitz videos. For CA and FL I also used Themis, but I only completed 40% of Themis for CA (300 hours total study time) and 4% of Themis for FL (20 hours total study time). I do recommend Themis (particularly the UWorld MBE module), but I think Studicata is what enabled me to make it past the finish line. I took the 7/25 PA bar exam without investing much study time (probably similar to FL) and used Bar Blitz once again. I am hoping this will be 3 for 3 (results are pending). I don't intend to take any more bar exams so likely won't be active here. Three bar exams in one lifetime is enough. But I wish Michael and Studicata the very best and send thanks for all the help I received.

@Nora Traver Well, I went a bit nuts. I don't think you need to necessarily do that many. But I was told by one of my law school professors (who actually teaches a bar prep class at law school) that there is a significant correlation between passing and doing at least 2,000 practice questions. So, 2,000 was her minimum as part of her advice. And she said "weaker" students should aim for a minimum of 2,500. I think that is really sound guidance. 2,000 questions is really not that many. At 3 minutes per question (allowing for some review time) that's 100 hours. 20 hours a week for five weeks. 3 hours a day. It's not fun. But it's really not that onerous. I found by doing this huge number of questions I became quite fast and was averaging around 60 - 70 seconds per question. This meant I could get through around 100 questions in about 2 hours. 100 questions is what you have to do in the morning and afternoon MBE sessions. You get 3 hours for each session, so you need to stay within the average of one question every minute and 48 seconds. I still found the MBE challenging, but I didn't feel under time pressure. A lot of "flip a coin" type pressure, but not stress in terms of not finishing. I was able to make my Scantron bubbles beautiful. Perfect ovals. Miniature works of art. Some people don't finish all the questions. You definitely don't want to be that person. You want accuracy, of course, but you also want speed. And because I was generally fast, when I came across a really difficult question I could take 3 minutes to think about it and that was OK. I would scribble answers in the test booklet and then, after every 20 questions, transfer those answers to the Scantron sheet. The Scantron sheet is comprised of 5 columns of 20 questions each. So, I think this is a sensible way to approach the logistics of getting the bubbles filled in. I would also set out the target finish times for each 20 question block before I started answering anything to make sure I was not falling behind. So, if my exam were to start at 9:00 am, I would write out the times for each 20 question block like this:

Well, if English is your second language, you have an additional challenge. But there are plenty of ESL lawyers, so it can be done. For me (and my method may not work for everyone), I did blocks of 10 practice questions on my iPad. And then went through the answers I got wrong after that. I tried to average around 70%. I think for MBE the passing score is around 62% to 65% (although most states average this with your essays, so you can score more on your essays, and less on the MBE, and vice versa). If you know half the answers, that's 50%. And if you can eliminate two wrong answers and guess, 50/50, on the rest, then that's another 25%. Which would give you 75% which is a huge score. I would hate to think that I would be doing this exam in a second language. So, I really see you have that to deal with. But I think the medicine is still the same. Just do lots of practice questions. You will improve both in speed and accuracy. Remember, the bar is not a mountain. It's a hill.

Beverly Hills lawyer who passed CA + FL bar exams on first attempt with Studicata. Also used Studicata for 7/25 PA bar and I hope to have passed that.
