Tonight we have a 1/4final cup game however last night we had two things happen Took the ball on a previously dislocated finger from last season last night at keeper training causing some discomfort we’ve iced it straight away so my question is finger tape or no finger tape and what’s the best way to do it Secondly we found out last night from our team manager that a scout is coming down from Newcastle to watch him so how do we keep him calm he’s already nervous about the 1/4 final never mind the scout we haven’t told him as we don’t want to add pressure would you keep it from them or tell them

It’s been a busy few weeks and months the weather hasn’t helped us with cancelled matches but before we get back into a busy period of league fixtures cup fixtures and tournaments we took time to reflect over a few things. Mindset It’s a big deal goal keeper is the last line of defence a difficult position to play the one position where all eyes are on you waiting for you to make that mistake and remember the mistake that you made with the mindset book and discussions we have developed a lot not allowing things to get to us we would lash out get frustrated kick the posts but now we have a phrase “be a gold fish” when a mistake happens we shout the phrase to let go of the negative mindset and move forward and focus on the next task Equipment We’ve had may brands of gloves some house hold names and nothing touches the quality that we are seeing with our J4K we have replaced finally a pair of gloves we had from day one six months in training three times a week all surfaces all weather and they still have so much life in them so we will keep them for training but @Ray Newland the quality of product you are giving us is amazing padded shorts we never thought about it but when the ground is hard or on Astro this just gives us the added confidence we need when throwing ourself across the goal to make the saves needed Good luck everyone keep training hard keep a positive mindset and we will all be great

So our team have now entered into two leagues one Saturday one Sunday however we couldn’t guarantee being available for every Saturday game so the manager is looking for a potential spare keeper Had to have hard conversation with Freddie over this he has always been number 1 We’ve had a chat with the manager and thankfully he’s come back to us and said we are always number 1 and always the priority as we have been from day one and saved the team many of times How has everyone else coped if they are competition for that number 1 spot we are u8’s
