Liberated Learning - April 1
Mark your calendars (or check ours). Our next webinar on Liberated Learning- Building Trust Respect, and Self-Directed learners is on April 1 at 2 pm PST, Presented by Kenneth Danford of North Star Teens. What happens when the first jump out of conventional schooling to a microschool setting is not enough? Staff and students may appreciate the creative and individualized approach of the new school, but they want more freedom to have a different sort of relationship. Students want the time, space, and autonomy to start with their own strengths, and teachers want to stop pushing students to do projects that don’t fully interest them. The next step to this freedom is quite simple and powerful! Learn more about our model based on trust, respect, and self-directed learning. Kenneth is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of North Star: Self-Directed Learning for Teens, established in 1996. His commitment to making school optional for all teens arises from his six-year career as a public school teacher, first in Prince George’s County, MD, and then in Amherst, MA. In 2013, he co-founded Liberated Learners, a network of centers based on the North Star model. Liberated Learners has supported dozens of individuals and teams to start centers, and Kenneth offers free monthly webinars about the model for people from all over the world. Two essential items explaining his vision and commitment are his 2013 TEDx Talk and his 2017 Alumni Outcomes article. In 2019, Kenneth published his book, Learning is Natural: School is Optional: the North Star approach to offering teens a head start on life, found through his website, www.kennethdanford.com

@Chase Eskelsen let me look into it. I'm not having troubles with it right now, but maybe it's because I'm the owner of the site.

@Chase Eskelsen I have been playing with the links. They seem to be working, but if not, here are the direct links instead of the Bit.ly links I used.
