Hi everyone, I'm John Hayes, and I'm delighted to be here. I live in Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, and at 68 years of age, I feel like I’m just getting started in a new and exciting chapter. Over the years, I’ve read and re-read Think and Grow Rich more times than I can count, and the mastermind principle has always struck a deep chord with me. Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of building and running several businesses. One in particular grew to six outlets, 25 staff, and a €3.5 million annual turnover — all over a 17-year period before I sold my share in 2005. These days, I run a print and design business, and I’ve always had a deep fascination with helping small business owners get more leads, craft compelling offers, and market themselves more effectively. My current quest for growth involves a unique solution I’m developing to connect local business owners with residents in their community — offering value through local deals, supporting shop-local efforts, and generating leads for businesses in a practical, measurable way. I’d say I’m about 40% of the way to launching it, and the early feedback is very encouraging. One challenge I’ve faced is figuring out how to monetize the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered. I see the mastermind process as a perfect framework for doing that — but until now, I hadn’t seen a structured system that brought everything together. That’s why joining this community already feels like a pivotal moment. I have a lot of experience with masterminds and group dynamics (I served as a chapter director in BNI — Business Network International — for several years), but this is the first time I’ve seen such a well-thought-out structure for how to truly implement one. In terms of contribution, I’ve always enjoyed helping others and sharing what I’ve learned. While I’m just getting started here, I’m determined to absorb, implement, and support others along the way. The quality of what I’ve seen so far is top-class, and I’m really looking forward to working with and learning from everyone here.
