What’s the Biggest Lesson You’ve Learned About Off-Grid Solar?
One thing I find interesting about off-grid systems is that every setup is different depending on location, energy needs, budget, and lifestyle. For those who have experience with solar or are currently building an off-grid setup: What’s one thing you wish you knew before starting? It could be about: ☀️ System sizing 🔋 Battery choices ⚡ Energy management 🏡 Installation challenges 💰 Budget planning 🛠️ Maintenance And for those just learning, what’s the biggest question you’re trying to answer before making the move? Would love to hear everyone’s experiences and learn from the knowledge in this community.

I wish we had done more future proofing., For example, we started off with a couple of panels, but the buried conduit was sized for just those two panels. Later, when we added panels increasing the voltage, we wanted to go with cable that was physically larger, it wouldn't fit in the conduit, and we had to dig it up and do it again. Simple example, but it proved to be a real disincentive delaying the upgrade to our setup.
