Happy Sunday funday! I just had an amazing weekend in Austin, TX. I did my first all digital DJ set at Sans Bar, the first alcohol free bar in the US. I usually DJ with vinyl records, old Skool analog style, so this was huge for me! The experience was a blast, a reminder that the best version of me is alcohol free, and my sobriety is my superpower! I wanted to share a reel I created today on how I transplanted a bamboo plant that has had tremendous growth. Similarly, my business has expanded in the same time frame and I’m proud to talk about it on my social media. I was given this bamboo as a going away present. At the time, she stood a mighty 8 inches. Today the stems and leaves stretch almost 3 feet tall! This beauty both symbolizes my growth in business and my personal feats in the last 5 years. I’m proud to say that 2026 is forecasted to be my first 100k year for One in a Melody, my beloved music studio. Growth has not been linear! In that time I’ve switched from travel teaching to studio lessons, I’ve offered virtual lessons, I’ve moved cities, and every time…my students moved with me. Numbers have gone up and down, but the growth persisted. In the past 5 years, hundreds of students have walked through my doors and I’m so proud of the musical knowledge and talent they carry with them. My job doesn’t feel like work when all we do all day is explore our creative dreams. I provide the skills, they curate the dream! The dream to take the mundane parts of life and make them sing. The dream to fill the empty silence with beautiful song. I could not have imagined when I stepped out of the doors of someone else’s business in 2021 that I would be where I am today, but I’m so excited for the life that continues to unfold!
