Be the light
John 8:12 NLT [12] Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.8.12.NLT This vers speaks to me in so many ways. I just signed up for my third Mammoth March event of the year. I did 3 of these last year and the first one I did to completion last year as I did with the other two. A year before I tried it and had good people with me and failed successfully at mile 11. This year because I lead by example last year...I have people in actually doing events with so I can be the light to them. For example I am doing a 5K Ruck with a group of people just to be the light. My cousin is attempting the 30 mile Mammoth March event with me ...and I'm go into be the light on our group. Just like Jesus is the light of the world

Week 1 Teaching — John 1–4
In this video, I walk through key moments in John 1–4 that stood out to me, share context to deepen understanding, and break down verses that reveal who Jesus is and how He meets us personally. This is meant to guide your reading, not rush it—helping you slow down, reflect, and connect with the Word. You’ll hear: • Insights that personally impacted me • Scripture explained with simple context • Reflection questions to help you apply what you’re reading • Details about our end-of-month live discussion (Premium access) As you watch, listen for what the Holy Spirit highlights for you. Pause when something resonates, and return to the text with fresh eyes. At the end, I’d love your feedback—what helped, what you’d like more of, and what you’re hoping to learn as we continue through the Gospel of John.

In thinking of the reason why I follow Jesus ..I think it can be both because of who he is and what he does. The what he does part for me is being thankful for what he did on my life. I recognize that my fitness journey didn't become as successful as it is... without him and I'm forever thankful for that! I type this down 170+ pounds and doing incredible things I never thought possible 10 years ago. It's all because of him! Then I think about purpose....I am not 100 percent sure but I think my purpose is to remind people my age(in my 50s) that we were made for more.(Great song there). I see so many people who just give up once they get to be my age and just accept the lie that that's all they can be. That's Satan. The song says: Cause I wasn't made to be tending a grave I was called by name Born and raised back to life again I was made for more So why would I make a bed in my shame When a fountain of grace is running my way I know I am Yours And I was made for more We were ALL made for more. We need to remember that!
Midweek check-in 🤍
How are you doing with the Gospel of John so far? Whether you’re right on track, a little behind, or just opening your Bible today—you’re still showing up, and that matters. This study isn’t about keeping pace. It’s about staying connected and returning when life gets busy. What chapter are you in right now? Or—what verse has stood out to you so far this week? Take a moment to pause, breathe, and meet God in the middle of your week.

In chapter 3 today which has one of my all time favorite verses ...John 3:16 John 3:16 NLT [16] “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.3.16.NLT
Day 1 — We’re officially starting 🤍
I’m so excited to begin the Gospel of John with you. The reading plan is now live in the Classroom, and today we start with John 1. ** if you want the bonuses - go to settings and upgrade your membership in the group ** As you read, remember this: this month isn’t about reading fast or checking boxes. It’s about slowing down, staying present, and truly connecting with the words you’re reading. You don’t need to rush. You don’t need to be perfect.Let the Word speak before you move on. If a verse stands out, pause with it.If something confuses you, sit with it.If you fall behind, return — that’s part of the discipline. Drop a 🙌 or 📖 in the comments once you’ve started today, or share one verse that caught your attention. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s begin together.

John 1:4-5 NLT [4] The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.1.4-5.NLT
STARTING TOMORROW!
I started this community because I kept seeing believers who want consistency in Scripture but feel overwhelmed, guilty, or unsure where to start. This group is designed to help you: 📖 Read the Bible with context 🧠 Understand what you’re reading 🙏 Apply Scripture to everyday life ⏳ Build consistency without burnout You’ll notice there are two ways to be here: ✨ Free (Rooted):You’re invited to join the community discussions, prayer threads, monthly book overview, and live teachings. ✨ Premium (Deep Rooted):This gives you full access to the Book of the Bible curriculum, weekly teachings, reflection prompts, reading plan PDFs, and replays for deeper study. Both are valuable. Choose what supports your season. I’m excited to start with the Book of John—a gospel written so that we may believe and truly know who Jesus is. This month isn’t about rushing or perfection - it’s about showing up, returning often, and letting the Word do the work. Welcome. I’m honored to walk through Scripture with you.

Looking forward to this Jessica! My church is starting a 21 days of prayer and I will add you and this group to my daily prayers. Also reading a book called Praying the 21 Greatest Promises of the Bible by Dave Earley. I'm ahead of the game on through the first few chapters (total of 21). Today's sermon my pastor did today talked about when the man brought his demon possessed son to Jesus. In Mark 9:23 Jesus said: "What do you mean "If I can?"" Then he said "Anything is possible if you believe". That is the mentality I am taking into this new year when it comes to everything. From my workouts, to my Bible reading to my races and hikes I will be doing this year. He's with me every step of the way and he promises that to us. I pray that this group learns much from this study of John and I am looking forward to the discussions.
