First Timers

We have our first date set for October 2 for the family band. My son and I played at a senior center once for his piano teacher, but this is our first time on our own. It's a simple and free program with my 6-year-old daughter and my 10-year-old song, but it's a start! It's the moment we go from saying it's something we'd like to do some day to really doing it, and I'm excited!

Thankful

I am thankful for Chris, and all of the help that he gives all of us! Today, at the end of a show, I did exactly what he told me to do in our zoom meeting on Monday, and booked another show with the Activities director. Thanks brother for all you do for us!

I'm thankful as well to Chris! Just booked a repeat gig at the first senior living community I performed at in July pro-bono. Told the director my rate is $100 for the hour, She said great. Just send a W-9 with the invoice! Thanks Chris!

Hey Google

I have an Android Phone (but I'm sure this works the same way with the Siri feature on iPhones) I have made my list of Senior Communities to dial. I dread each dial because cold calling is WAYYYYYY out of my comfort zone BUT one little trick that is helping me is that I have set up "Google Assistant" on my Android phone. (Newer models have Gemini as the Assistant feature) I can simply be hands free and say "Hey Google - Dial 615-300-2751" and it says "Sure - Dialing 615-300-2751". The point is that it's so much easier, faster and 100% accurate when I'm staring at an intimidating list of numbers to dial. The process has removed some of my apprehension and made the deed less painful. Just thought I'd share...

Austin, from what you said during the livestream you have a really impressive background as a performer. I am guessing you probably have lots of photos and videos of yourself performing. You might want to put together an introduction email with a photo, sample songlist and a link to a performance. When you call the senior living communities first ask if you can get the email address for the activities director before asking to be connected with them. More than likely you will end up talking to an answering machine and along with your message you can mention that you will be following up with an email. Good luck, but it sounds like with your musical skillset you will be booked solid after you perform at a few of these places.
