It turns humans into skimmers who glance at an agentโs work after the fact, assume it is correct, and slowly hand over our own thinking. Research calls this automation bias, and it is one of the most common risks in humanโAI systems. Autonomous agents are not chatbots. They do not just generate words. They set goals, make decisions, fix mistakes, change course, and act in the world. Some can already plan trips, fill out forms, or even book transit tickets, often with human confirmation on key steps for safety. โ๏ธ What they donโt need is humans who rubber-stamp their work. What they do need are humans who define purpose, set guardrails, and stay engaged as teachers, challengers, and mentors. But it is also the responsibility of the AI to learn from its mistakes, adapt, and improve over time.
