Some days, being a carer feels like juggling a dozen fragile things at once — phone calls, paperwork, appointments, decisions 😦 I want to be honest with you all: I’m not speaking about being a Carer from a distance. I’m still living it, every day. As an only child, I’m the one managing the affairs of two ageing parents who no longer have the capacity to handle their own. There are moments when it’s overwhelming — when the desk looks like this photo, and I wonder how I’ll get through it all. But I share this because I know many of you feel the same. You’re not alone in the exhaustion, the responsibility, or the love that keeps you showing up 🌸 This community exists because we need each other — to remind ourselves that even in the chaos, we are doing something extraordinary. We are finding our way to solid ground as a Carer. ❇️If you are in this community and are currently in a Carer role - What has been the hardest part for you lately? It feels like the right moment to say this plainly: my aim isn't to be your expert, or to tell you what to do from a textbook. My aim is to be your guide — someone who has actually climbed this mountain, and who reaches a hand back to help you find your footing, based on what I have lived through myself, as a carer of both my ageing parents. My experiences, my mistakes, my wins, my what I wished I had knowns, all of it ......... I am still finalising the materials for Finding Solid Ground as a Carer — the sessions, the tools, all of it — piece by piece, with real care. It is not quite ready yet, but it is coming, and I want you to know exactly what it is building toward. If you are climbing your own version of this mountain right now, you are not doing it alone. You have joined right at the very beginning, and I want you to know exactly what is happening here 😊 I am currently building out - "Finding Solid Ground as a Carer" — a full 1:1 coaching program that walks you through everything I wish someone had handed me three years ago. Six sessions, each with its own practical tool, covering everything from spotting the early signs, to navigating My Aged Care, Centrelink and Financial requirements in care options, to knowing when home is no longer the safest option, and obtaining medical assistance. It is still a work in progress, but the information and structure are coming together, and I am genuinely excited about what this is becoming. All while I continue to navigate this system myself for my parents. Their needs are constantly changing and with that, I am still on the Carer journey. This is why I feel that I have so much lived experience to offer you - to help you find your way through the Ageing Parents maze. Thank you for being here this early.
