Update on The Menopause Running Club
Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed some good runs. You might notice a few changes on here - have a look at the classroom and you'll be able to see some of the resources that I am building out. They aren't available yet, but it will give you a good idea of what's coming on here.

What runs have you got planned this weekend?
I’m lucky enough to have a nice river close to my house so that’s a regular route for me. I’m behind on my strength training this week so I’m heading to the gym shortly too. Tell me in the comments what your plans are - I’d love to see your photos too!

What’s your proudest running moment?
In May this year I entered a 10k race - with no intention of actually racing. The year before I’d pulled out of the same event because of knee problems, and I remember thinking on the journey there, that simply getting to the start line was an achievement. By the time we crossed the finish line it was raining so we headed back to the van. We were just about to get going and I heard my name being shouted over the tannoy. I thought I must have lost something, but it turned out I’d come first in my age group! I couldn’t stop laughing. I am not a natural or talented runner. I was awful at school - so to win my first medal at 53 was something I never expected. It just goes to show - we can bounce back now and do more than we ever thought possible. What’s your most memorable run?

Probably my fastest 10k aimed for 1 hr but was 33 seconds short or the last Iondon marathon, it was a journey fundraising and training
How do you manage your training around work?
I’m off to London today, on the 5:15 train and won’t be home til about 10:30pm. I know this will throw my training this week. How do you manage your training around work?

Aches & Pains - How to tell which could harm your running and what to do about them.
Noticing more aches and pains as a menopausal runner is normal. Here's the lowdown on what those aches and pains mean, how to identify the ones that could lead to injury and time out from running if they are left unchecked, and what you can do about them. Top line (if you haven’t got time to watch the video) These are signs not to ignore: 👉Stiff feet and ankles after waking or being still for a while, that goes quickly 👉A persistent hip niggle that can also feel uncomfortable to lie on 👉Niggles in Achilles and top of hamstring that feels like it’s deep in the buttocks 👉Joint pain and/or swelling that is worse after a run https://youtu.be/pEOpxWSWEvI Extra Resources to help you tackle this - Try the workouts in the Classroom Section - Book your free 30 minute call (all members are entitle to one free call with me) using the link below https://gabrielleohare.simplybook.it/v2/#book/service/16/count/1/
