This is part of this month's "Embracing a Life of Love" series from my book- Keys to Life:3 65 Daily Faith-Based devotional. What does it mean to love your neighbor as yourself? I've lived in a big city for most of my life, and I don't know about you but I was taught to beware of strangers. Now yes a neighbor is not exactly a stranger but the more private I could keep things the better. Except the day when I came home and found a young man who looked to be about 11 crouched down in the hallway. He looked at me and asked could he use my cellphone because his phone was dead and his grandmother wasn't home. Here was someone's child and I thought how I would want someone to do this if my child was in the same situation. So I invited him in and we called his grandmother and mother. Ever since that day, his grandmother (who was my neighbor) thanked me and was so grateful. Love is often expressed not in grand gestures but often in simple acts of kindness. In a world where privacy is often prioritized over connection, seize the opportunity to show love to your neighbor because, "no act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted." Do something kind without expecting anything in return. This is transformative. Lets build bridges and BE the change we want to see.
