Canvas sizes?
Hi! I’ve just joined! I’m at the buying supplies stage. What size canvases are you all generally working on for your paintings to get started with? I’m completely new to oil painting. Done a few weeks of watercolor. Thanks!

@Johan Krijgsman good that you are trying all the things. Do you feel like you might improve faster if you throw everything at mostly one medium? That’s my thoughts anyway. I wanted to dabble in pastels as well but now am doing 90% oils and continuing 10% watercolour just because I was doing a bit of that first and I don’t want to lose the skill completely. Anyway, just thought!

Painting no 6!
Here’s where I’m up to so far. Took this photo when I was out walking the dogs. The sheer number of ponies was overwhelming to paint so I’ve significantly simplified the scene! About to do Sam’s tree painting course because the little flick is currently the only tool in my arsenal. I tried adding hay on an earlier painting and it’s really tricky to make it convincing! What would you do with this next? Any feedback welcome!

This is painted using acrylics (most of them cheap) on acrylic paper, 9”x12”.
