Hello Terence , great question! In Professional for a foot sweep leading to an off balance and KO likely would result in KO not a DQ. In amateur (tournaments) you are running a risk especially if you’ve already been warned. So if it’s borderline foul and the fight has been clean otherwise I’d rule a KO.. if it was a repeated issue and especially if the culprit was losing I’d be looking to possibly DQ( like Ajarn Thanong said you need to know the game and who is winning) In Professional if it’s been an egregious issue it’s suitable as well to DQ. I know there’s some discretion here but hope that helps .
Small Gloves, Big Changes: Clinching in Modern Muay Thai
Ever watched a One Championship fight and thought, damn, this feels different? Those smaller 4oz gloves are a total game-changer. Here’s how they’re shaking things up: Why the Switch? Smaller gloves = more action. Faster strikes, more knockouts, and a real test of precision and defense. How It Impacts Clinching - More Risk, More Reward: Mistakes in the clinch hit harder—literally. - Technique Overhaul: Less padding means tighter grips. You can’t afford a slip. - Strategic Shifts: Fighters clinch less, waiting for the perfect moment to dominate. What’s Your Take? Is this the evolution Muay Thai needed or a step too far from tradition? Drop your thoughts below—we want to hear from you.

I personally like less chance of knockout and more well rounded use of weapons for Muay Thai . I’m not a game cock enthusiast nor condone cock fighting but there are fans of natural spur fights where the birds usually live and the fights are very long . But many countries attach a blade to the spur which obviously shortens the fight and kills the bird .. there are people who like both .

Close round but for Traditional scoring Red is likely favored . Many off balancing moments and moderate advantage in clinch control and positioning . Blue had moments and slightly outstruck Red however it wasnt quite enough to take the round if you are scoring this round independently.
