When we got to the heart of the night and I asked the Q: "What do you want to talk about that you can't say in public?" Y'all named something I didn't expect. It's not that you can't say these things publicly. Many of you already do, and bravely. 🦁 What you're craving is a place to go deeper than out there allows. Past the hot take. Past the first brave sentence. Together, in community. I felt that too. I'd like to offer these agreements as a starting point... This is a brave space. - No one is here to perform. - No one is here to pretend they have it all figured out. - We're all here because we're tired of doing this alone. What's shared in this space stays in this space. - Confidentiality is non-negotiable. Let’s speak the lessons yet not the details.  - Let’s be respectful and kind. It takes vulnerability to show up authentically and wholeheartedly so let’s co-create a brave space.  You don't have to show up perfectly. - Camera off because you don't have capacity? Cool. - Kids interrupting in the background? We've all been there. - Need to just listen and not talk? That's so relatable. You're not performing… you're being human. - There's no "right way" to do this. - You show up however you can, exactly as you are. Whether you're inside as an employee or outside as a consultant, you belong here simply because you know the gap: the distance between what an organization or leader says they are committed to and the infrastructure to hold it.
