🚪 English opens doors
Quick question 👇 What opportunity would you like English to open for you? Examples: I’d like English to help me get a better job. I’d like English to help me travel with more confidence. I’d like English to help me understand AI and technology better. I’d like English to help me feel more confident in interviews. One sentence. Real answer. Let’s use English for real life 💪

@Patricia Alonso Patricia!! Qué alegría verte por aquí 👏👏 Very happy to have you in the Lab. You already know this: English is not just about studying. It’s about using it. For now, enjoy the community, explore the content and jump in whenever you feel like it. Welcome to Quickinglés Lab, my friend 💪🚀

@Ana Sanchez Lirola Ana, very good answer 👏 And you know this is something we’ve talked about many times: English is not just for travelling or passing an exam. In your case, it makes complete sense because of work, career and opportunities. Very good point, Ana 💪 English opens doors, but it also helps you keep them open 🚪🔥
💬 My Opinion — Elon Musk
Quick note before we start In English, "trillion" is 1,000,000 million. In Spanish, that's "un billón". So "trillionaire" in English = "billonario" in Spanish. Confusing, right? This is exactly the kind of thing that trips Spanish speakers up. Now, my opinion... I think it's complicated. On one hand, Musk has built things that genuinely change the world (rockets, electric cars, satellites). On the other hand, one person having more money than entire countries makes me uncomfortable 😅. Wealth at that scale stops being about merit and becomes about power, and ..at the of the day we are just humans.. What do you think?

To step on someone. 🤙🏼

@Ana Sanchez Lirola Ana, very good opinion 👏 Nice point. Yes, he deserves his fortune if he built it himself, but people with a lot of money should also have social responsibility. That’s a strong idea. Just a few useful corrections 👇 I completely agree that he deserves his fortune if he made it himself. Not: if made it by himself And this idea sounds more natural like this: In my opinion, people with that much money should help others. Also, I like this idea Ana: You can still have an amazing life, but at the same time support a good cause or donate to an organization. Very good answer, Ana 💪 Opinion, argument and real English.
Mi Crónica S2 - Ana Sanchez
Last week I had a meeting with a bank. The purpose of the meeting was to get a loan for my company to pay our taxes in July. I prepared for this meeting for one month because I wanted to answer every question. I didn't want the bank to say no because of me. My boss is also very demanding. What do you think the meeting was like? It was very easy. After one minute, they said yes to the loan. I was happy, but I felt a little disappointed because I didn't have the chance to show all my preparation.

Ana, good crónica 👏 Very clear story. I understood the situation perfectly. Just a few useful corrections 👇 I prepared for this meeting for one month because I wanted to be ready for every question. Better than: because I wanted to answer every question. Both are understandable, but “be ready for every question” sounds more natural here. And this final idea is good, but we can make it more natural: I was happy, but I felt a little disappointed because I didn’t have the chance to show how much I had prepared. Better than: show all my preparation. Very good crónica, Ana 💪 You prepared a lot, and that preparation probably made the meeting feel easy 😄
📰 New piece of news: Weights and longer life
Quick question: Do you think adults should lift weights after 40? I want short answers today. One or two sentences. @Oscar Rodriguez Miranda tú que estás participando bastante, what do you think? @Ingles Eoi same question for you: @Manuel Trujillo Baeza Should adults lift weights after 40 or 50? Useful starters: I think adults should...In my opinion,...I don’t lift weights, but...If I exercised more, I would... No hace falta escribir una parrafada. Just your opinion 👇

@Juan Antonio Ruiz Correas Good one, Juan Antonio 👏 I agree with you and with the main idea: strength training is good, but you need to respect your limits. Small improvement: I agree with my mates. When you are over 35, you should do strength training, but you must be (con must no hay TO) careful with the intensity. If you train too hard, you could break yourself like an old car 😂 (I like this one) And your final sentence could be: Lift as heavy as you can, but know your limits. Very good idea.

@Ana Sanchez Lirola Ana, very good answer 👏💪 I really like this idea: It’s not only about physical appearance. Exactly. Strength training is also about health, energy and feeling better in your body. Very good point. Age is not an excuse!! but common sense is always necessary 😂🔥

Hi! my name is Victor. I have studied English more than any other subject in my life, and yet I still haven't reached the level of English I would like to have. I'm sure that's because I haven't had enough practice. I hope this community will help me improve.

Victor, welcome to the Lab! Aquí no venimos a hacerlo perfecto. Venimos a usar el inglés, practicar, soltarnos y ganar confianza poco a poco. You’re in the right place, my friend 💪 Welcome to Quickinglés Lab! 🚀
