Speaking Faith in a Distracted World
We live in a world filled with noise. Notifications compete for attention. Opinions pull us in every direction. Fear, distraction, and pressure can easily shape our thoughts—and even our words. And if we’re not careful, we can start speaking what the world is shouting instead of what faith is declaring. Worry instead of peace. Doubt instead of trust. Fear instead of truth. But faith calls us to speak differently. Because our words matter. What we speak often reflects what we believe, and what we believe influences how we live. That’s why speaking faith is more than positive thinking— It is choosing to align our words with God’s truth even when life feels uncertain. Sometimes speaking faith looks like saying: ✨ “God is still working.” ✨ “Peace is possible here.” ✨ “I will trust even before I understand.” ✨ “This challenge is not greater than God’s faithfulness.” Faith-filled words anchor the heart. In a distracted world, speaking faith helps keep us focused on what is eternal instead of what is temporary. It reminds us not to let fear narrate our lives. To pause before reacting. To speak life instead of negativity. To let truth be louder than the noise. The world may be distracted— but your heart can stay grounded. And your words can reflect that grounding. Because faith is not only something we carry internally… It’s something we declare.

Speaking positively and staying away from gossip is so hard. A place of work opens so many doors to witness and is also the easiest place to get sucked in to unGodly speak. I work at a public school so to keep my job I have to be careful, but being kind and positive in such a stressful place speaks loudly. I need to remember to pray for the Spirit to help me do that each day.
Finding Strength in Scripture
here are moments in life when we feel overwhelmed—when the weight of responsibilities, emotions, and uncertainty becomes too heavy to carry on our own. In these seasons, it’s easy to feel weak, lost, or even discouraged. But one thing remains constant: God’s Word. Scripture isn’t just a collection of verses—it’s a source of strength, guidance, and truth that speaks directly into our lives, no matter what we’re going through. It reminds us of who God is, who we are in Him, and the promises we can hold onto even in the hardest times. When you feel weak, Scripture reminds you: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” When you feel anxious, it speaks peace: “Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God will guard your heart and mind.” When you feel lost or uncertain, it gives direction: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.” God’s Word has a way of meeting us exactly where we are. It comforts, corrects, strengthens, and renews. Finding strength in Scripture doesn’t require perfection—it requires presence. It’s about showing up, opening your Bible, and allowing God to speak. Some days, it may look like: • Reading a single verse and holding onto it all day • Writing down what speaks to your heart • Praying through Scripture • Sitting in quiet reflection and letting His truth sink in Even in the simplest moments, God’s Word has the power to shift your perspective and strengthen your spirit. Because strength doesn’t always come from having everything figured out—it comes from knowing where to turn when you don’t. And when you turn to Scripture: • You are reminded that you are not alone • You are anchored in truth, not emotion • You are strengthened with hope that doesn’t fade Let God’s Word be your daily source of strength. Not just in hard seasons—but in every season. Because when life feels uncertain, Scripture remains steady. When you feel weak, His Word makes you strong. Open it.

Yes! I am on week 43 of a woman's read the Bible in a year. I am looking for a new one. I am thinking about doing New Testament Journaling books. Can I ask for recommendations here or is that not allowed?
Caring for Creation as an Act of Worship
When we think about worship, we often picture singing, praying, or gathering in fellowship. And while those are beautiful expressions of our faith, worship goes beyond moments—it extends into how we live, how we serve, and how we care for what God has entrusted to us. Creation is one of God’s greatest gifts. The earth, the oceans, the skies, the trees, the air we breathe—every detail reflects His creativity, His power, and His love. From the very beginning, we were given a role: not just to enjoy creation, but to steward it. Caring for creation is not just an environmental responsibility—it’s a spiritual one. When we take care of the world around us, we are honoring the One who created it. It’s an act of worship that looks like: • Being mindful of how we use resources • Reducing waste and choosing sustainability when we can • Respecting nature instead of taking it for granted • Protecting what we’ve been entrusted with for future generations Worship isn’t always loud or visible. Sometimes, it’s found in quiet, intentional choices. It’s in choosing gratitude over entitlement. It’s in choosing stewardship over neglect. It’s in recognizing that everything we have is a gift—not something we own, but something we are called to care for. When we shift our perspective, even small actions take on deeper meaning. Picking up trash isn’t just cleaning—it’s honoring God’s creation. Saving water isn’t just practical—it’s stewardship. Planting something and helping it grow reflects the same care God shows us. Creation itself points back to God. And when we care for it, we participate in that reflection. This doesn’t mean we have to be perfect or do everything at once. It starts with awareness. With intention. With a heart that says, “Lord, I want to honor You in every area of my life—even in how I treat the world around me.” Because worship isn’t confined to a place or a moment. It’s a lifestyle. And when we care for creation, we turn everyday actions into sacred ones.

I live in the middle of Redwoods my property is surrounded on three sides by Redwood State Parks. We hike different trails every week. I think it is impossible to live in a place like this and not feel "church" everytime we adventure. God's creation is magnificent and it is so true that it is our jobs to steward His work. Thank you Lord for the beautiful world you made for us.
Hospitality as a Kingdom Value
Hospitality in the Kingdom of God is more than opening doors—it’s opening hearts. It’s not about having the perfect home, the best food, or everything put together. True hospitality is about creating a space where people feel seen, welcomed, and valued—just as they are. Jesus modeled this kind of hospitality throughout His ministry. He welcomed the outcast, sat with the overlooked, and made room for those society often pushed aside. His life showed us that hospitality is not about status—it’s about love. In the Kingdom, hospitality looks like: • Making time for people, even when life feels busy • Offering a listening ear without judgment • Creating safe spaces where others can be themselves • Welcoming others with grace, kindness, and sincerity It’s found in both big and small moments. Sometimes it’s inviting someone into your home. Other times, it’s simply making someone feel they belong in your presence. Hospitality is powerful because it reflects God’s heart. It reminds people that they are not alone, not forgotten, and always worthy of love. And the truth is—you don’t need much to practice it. You don’t need a perfect setup. You don’t need to impress anyone. You just need a willing heart. A smile, a kind word, a simple invitation—these can become moments where people experience God’s love in a real and tangible way. When we embrace hospitality as a Kingdom value: • We build deeper, more meaningful connections • We create spaces where healing and encouragement can happen • We reflect God’s love in everyday interactions Let’s be people who don’t just wait to be welcomed—but who choose to welcome others. Let’s create environments where people feel safe, valued, and loved. Because sometimes, the simplest acts of hospitality can have the deepest impact. And in those moments, we’re not just serving people—we’re reflecting the heart of the Kingdom.

Guarding the Mind With Truth
What we allow into our minds shapes how we think, how we feel, and ultimately how we live. Every day, we are surrounded by noise—opinions, comparisons, fears, doubts, and distractions that can easily take root if we’re not careful. And over time, these thoughts can begin to feel like truth… even when they’re not. That’s why guarding your mind isn’t optional—it’s essential. In a faith-centered life, guarding your mind means being intentional about what you believe and choosing truth over everything else. Because not every thought deserves your agreement. There will be moments when lies try to creep in: “You’re not enough.” “You’ll never get through this.” “You’re alone.” But God’s truth says otherwise: You are chosen. You are strengthened. You are never alone. Guarding your mind with truth looks like: • Being aware of the thoughts you entertain • Replacing lies with God’s promises • Speaking life over yourself, even when it’s hard • Filling your mind with Scripture instead of fear It’s not about ignoring reality—it’s about anchoring yourself in something greater than your circumstances. The more you fill your mind with truth, the more it shapes your perspective. Peace begins to replace anxiety. Confidence begins to replace insecurity. Faith begins to rise above fear. And over time, you’ll notice a shift—not just in your thoughts, but in how you respond to life. Guarding your mind is a daily choice. It’s choosing truth when lies feel louder. It’s choosing faith when doubt tries to take over. It’s choosing to align your thoughts with what God says, not what the world suggests. So today, pause and ask yourself: “What am I allowing to take space in my mind?” And if it doesn’t align with truth—release it. Fill that space with God’s Word. Hold onto His promises. Because when your mind is guarded by truth, your life becomes guided by peace. And that changes everything. ✨

@Cynthia Simpkins I am working on this! Breaking old habits and lies. I keep thinking "I don't have time" but in reality I am filling my time with garbage. Lord help me to discern your truth for my life and please continue to give me this strong desire to spend more and more time with you , in you Word and with your people. Amen.

I walked away from God for many years, but renewed my relationship with him a year ago. Now my family joins me at church.
