How I'm training with Cyphr Cam (Freestyle)
What I've noticed using Cyphr Cam in my training process is: I'm able to consistently find a base level of deep connection with the music (since im dancing with headphones. It's a consistent quality of immersion that I'm channeling movement from. So I can study my trance state predictably (in a freestyle context). This gives me an actual base to measure my growth from, and have epiphanies in my dance quicker. For example: I've been taking the Beyond The Moves freestyle program from the bro @Nickel Yudat, and it's been really helpful to pinpoint the gaps I've felt in my dance for years. I've been stuck on a note he gave me a couple weeks ago during the live call: Staying with the vibe of the music. It's something I'm def familiar with, But making this understanding deeper has been the primary focus of my training the past couple weeks. Through this task, I've been processing 7 things: 1. As simple as this note might seem, I think the crystallization of it is exactly what I needed at this point in my dance. To really dissect what the "vibe" is to music. Very grateful for the direct insight, and I feel like can spend a lot of time with this alone (+ will continue with the weekly tasks) 2. I'm realizing "vibe", is the key to unlocking continuous groove (for me). I feel like I'm beginning to crystallize what continuous groove feels like and make it conscious in my dance. To lead with the vibe, instead of leading with my movement. And shedding the habits I've built over the years to control the music; I lose track of the vibe sometimes in these rounds, but then I find it again. 3. Part of the note was to "stay in the vibe without doing movement that is familiar.". Fighting my urge to do this, is very challenging. But there was a point where I surrendered my movement to the vibe; let the two pieces merge. I believe it changed the quality of my movement + how it feels for me in my execution 4. "Vibe" is also key to tastefully bridge my vocabulary across styles. I mess around with this a bit where i'm locking and switch to toprock in one of these rounds. It felt like a smoother transition, and the gap i've been feeling there is starting to be nurtured through the challenge.

Thank you for sharing these reflections and progress shots with where you are on your journey. I really love watching how to explore specifically with your extremities because they frame and focus well to where you want us to hear within the track. Always a great skill to have especially across multiple genres of music!
Exploring Arms
Hello! This is just me exploring and repeating some moves, building upon them and understanding the muscle engagement. It’s part of my daily challenge that I’ve started since the beginning of 2025. I’m a fan of using my arms for sure so I like to see how far I can dig in terms of concepts or pathway.

This was an intriguing watch! Thank you for sharing Nick!

This is one of the few takes of the night where I danced in a decent headspace through an entire song. I’ll consider these posts like progress reports. Journey with Jess I guess ✨🫶🏻 Thank you guys for your willingness to share your takes because they inspire me and give me courage to share mine. Song: “Pretending” - Alec Benjamin

What would help you make choreographing easier?
This past weekend I went to Florida to do a performance with my bro Ant_Boun (who is also beta testing the CyphrCam Tool) He's an incredible human being and movement artist who owned a studio, and taught hundreds of students over the years on the East Coast, and I'm blessed to call him my friend. He recently did a 30-Days-Of-Counts challenge where he made choreo everyday for 30 days. We had some great chats on the plane about problems that choreographers have in the creative process. From it, I realized what tools I can build to make the choreographic process easier. Here’s 4 features I'm thinking about: 1. Auto-count generator - displays the counts over your video - In theory, this would let you record a choreography or freestyle and instantly help you know what your counts are. Mostly for teaching purposes, and the video can be shared with students for practice. 2. Invisible Countdown Sounds - Putting a sound over the start point of a song that preps you for when you want to begin dancing, when exporting you wont hear the sound. For the edge case when a song has silence. 3. PIP mode (picture in picture) - Where you can review your dance in a facetime style format, live react and dictate notes on your dance to revisit later (part of movement journaling feature) 4. Progressive Choreo Tool - Record movement on a loop and in sections - Progressively build movement ideas in sequence - View live playback of your progress so far, note where you're at, and continue building your ideas And more.. For choreographers in the group, Is there anything that would help make your creative process with choreo easier? - What's something you repeatedly do, that you wish could be automated - What's something annoying in the creative process, that you wish was easier - What tool did you wish you had, to help make your creative process smoother Let me know in the comments, and I'll see if I can make tools to streamline 👇🏻

This will be fun to test. I think a speed dial to speed up and slow down music can be helpful. I like choreographing to the music slowed down sometimes so it helps me figure out if I like what I made without having to be conditioned 100% to do it full speed.

Also when I learn choreography, I like doing a side by side of different takes to the same section to see which version I like better.
