My son is also high functioning autism level 2 with ADHD and anxiety disorder. He has the hardest time falling asleep. He wakes up for water, using the bathroom, for Me to turn on the tv, try to come to my room. It can take hours. Like now. Since 6:30pm and still awake. I have tried magnesium and nothing. Melatonin, nothing.. I can read a book and watch a movie (boring movie) with him and nothing. It has come to the point that I just leave the TV on and let him go to sleep on his own. He also talks a lot while in bed. I have the tv on for my daughter. They share the room because she falls asleep in a half hr watching it. If I don’t have it, she would last hours bcuz my son would keep her awake. He would yell and scream as well. I am not sure anymore what to do. All I am told is to put him on ADHD medicine but I do not want nor ready to try that for him. Do you have any advice on what I should do? My daughter also has Hypotonia and level 1 autism. But she does not give me trouble to sleep. Very rare that she does but lately since my son is up and talking, she is now doing the same.

Hi my name is Jessica. I am a mom of two special needs (3 yrs old and a 6 yr old about to be 7). My daughter now is enjoying bath time, where she would sit in the tub. But for me to wash her, she gives me so much trouble. My son is into whales and is learning everything about them. I am learning a lot about whales. I am so happy and looking forward to this group. I don’t have many pictures with both my kids but here is the latest one :)
