Quick Ask: Tick Your Lessons So I Can Back You Up
Hey everyone, A lot of you are new to Skool, so here's something it doesn't make obvious: the only way I can see how far you've gotten in a course is the checkmark on each lesson. If you haven't been ticking them, your progress shows 0% on my end, even if you've read every lesson. Here's the ask: 1. Go back through the lessons you've already finished and click the checkmark circle in the top-right corner, next to the lesson title. It turns green when it's done. 2. From now on, tick each lesson when you finish it. That's it. The full walkthrough, with what to look for, is in the Start Here category and pinned at the top of the first lesson in Fundamentals: "How to Track Your Progress: The Lesson Checkmark." Why I'm asking You're putting real time into this, and Premium members are putting in $10 a month. I want every one of you getting the most out of it. When I can see where you are, I can check in when you stall, answer questions before you have to ask, and plan live sessions around the lessons that are giving people trouble. Without the checkmarks, I'm guessing. Nobody's being graded on speed. Go at your own pace. Just let me see the pace. Stuck on a lesson? Leave it unticked and post in Help Desk with the course and lesson. That's what it's there for. Let's get those progress bars moving. 💀 — Munch
How to Track Your Progress: The Lesson Checkmark
New to Skool? This one is quick, and it matters. Every lesson in the Classroom has a small circle with a checkmark in the top-right corner, right next to the lesson title. That's your "done" button. Skool doesn't tick it for you. Reading a lesson to the end doesn't count as finished until you click it. How to do it 1. Click Classroom at the top of the page and open a course. 2. Pick a lesson from the list on the left. 3. Work through the lesson, including the lab. 4. Click the checkmark circle in the top-right corner of the lesson. 5. Move on to the next lesson and do the same. On the Skool phone app it's in the same spot, at the top of the lesson. How to tell it worked - The checkmark circle turns green. - The lesson gets a checkmark in the list on the left. - The progress bar at the top of the course goes up. You'll see the same percentage on the course card in Classroom. Clicked it by mistake? Click it again to untick it. Nothing breaks. Why it matters When you tick a lesson, I can see where you are in the course. That's how I know who's moving, who's stuck, and where to step in. If a few of you stall on the same lesson, that lesson needs a better explanation or a live session, and I'll only know if the checkmarks are there. It also saves your place. Come back after a week away and the list shows exactly where you left off. Good habits - Tick a lesson once you've finished it and done the lab, not after a quick skim. - Finished some lessons before you saw this? Go back and tick them now. It takes a minute. - Stuck on a lesson? Leave it unticked and post in Help Desk with the course, the lesson and what's tripping you up. - Finished a whole course? Post your project in Project Submissions to earn the certification. Any questions about how this works, drop them below. No question is too basic.

Start Here: Your First 30 Minutes in The G.A.M.E.
Welcome to The G.A.M.E. 💀 You just joined the Ghouls Academy of Modding & Engineering. This is a school for people who want to understand their games, not just download things into them. Do these three things today: 1. Introduce yourself. Comment below with your name, your rig (GPU and CPU), the game you want to mod, and one thing you want it to look or play like. 2. Start Course 1: Fundamentals. It's free. Go to Classroom → 1. Fundamentals → Lesson 1. It sets up your workspace properly and covers the safety rules that prevent most broken installs. 3. Get your first win. Finish Lesson 5, "Installing Your First Mod," and post a before/after screenshot in Showcase. That's your first step from Initiate to Installer. How it works - Free members get Course 1 and the full community. - Premium ($10/month) unlocks the whole curriculum. That's 13 more courses: ReShade, ENB and lighting, shader programming, making mods, modlist authoring and the 20-lesson Skyrim Masterclass. It also unlocks project reviews and certifications. - Every course ends in a real project. Post it in Project Submissions, a Gravekeeper reviews it, and you earn the certification. - Ranks: Initiate → Installer → Troubleshooter → Tuner → Preset Crafter → Light Bender → Shader Smith → Mod Author → Lich. Pick your path - Make my game look incredible → Courses 3, 4, 5, 6 - Build a stable setup that doesn't crash → Courses 2, 3, 9 - Make my own mods and tools → Courses 7, 8, 10, 11 - Master Skyrim → Course 2, then the Skyrim Masterclass - Grow as a creator → Courses 6, 12, 13 Where things go - Help Desk: stuck? Include your game and version, mod manager, mod list and crash log. - Showcase: screenshots, presets, before/afters. - Project Submissions: course projects for review. - Preset Drops: share your own presets. - Live Sessions: schedule and replays. House rules - Mods stay free. You pay here for teaching and support, never for anyone's mods. - Single-player only. No modding online or competitive games. - Credit authors, respect permissions, and never reupload what isn't yours. - Be the person you'd want answering your question.

you're doing fine. Don't be so nervous. It's ok. Being nervous is a natural reaction, to taking on something new.
FAQ: Everything New Members Ask
I've never modded anything. Is this for me? Yes. Course 1 assumes nothing and gets you to your first working mod safely. Everything after builds step by step. I've modded for years. Will I learn anything? Probably a lot. The later courses go deep: depth buffers, writing shaders, crash log analysis, xEdit patching, SKSE plugins, C++ ReShade add-ons. Skim what you know, do the projects to prove it. What's free and what's Premium? Free: Course 1 and the whole community — Help Desk, Showcase, challenges. Premium ($10/month): all 14 courses, masterclasses, project reviews and certifications. Do you sell mods? No, and never will. Mods stay free. You're paying for structured teaching, reviews and support. Which games do you cover? The core courses work for almost any single-player PC game. Specific deep dives: Skyrim (Masterclass live), with Fallout 4, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V next. ReShade works on almost anything. Do I need a high-end PC? No. You'll learn to set budgets for your hardware. Many lessons cover getting great results on mid-range GPUs and even the Steam Deck. Console? The courses are PC-focused. Console modding (Creations) is covered where relevant, but most tools here need a PC. Can you help with online games? No. We only mod single-player games and modes. Modding online games risks bans and helps cheaters — not something we teach. How fast do I get help? Post in Help Desk using the template in the pinned "How to Get Help Fast" post. Complete posts get answered much faster. What are Gravekeepers? The moderators. They review projects, keep the community clean and help in Help Desk. Can I cancel Premium? Anytime, from your Skool membership settings. You keep the free tier. Question not here? Comment below and it gets added.
