Total newbie here
Hey everyone! I’m Rob. I’ve been getting into reselling on eBay and am looking to learn tips, tricks, and strategies from folks who are crushing it. I went yesterday for my first look at goodwill. I didn't get anything mainly went to look.

You have joined a great group of resellers who are all here to help each other be better. There are resellers at every possible level here. You will fit right in.

@Robert Hildreth start checking sold items and learning the brands that sell. Sell Through Rate is King. If someone else sells it there is a good chance you can too.
If I Can Do It You Can Do It Better
I am just a guy who does reselling on weekends, early mornings and nights. Part-time only. I have made stupid mistakes early on and I am still paying a “stupid tax” for those decisions. When I post here I do so to show both sides of reselling. The good and the bad. I show what works for me and what I have done wrong. Please do what you need to do to exceed your own expectations, grow your business and be as profitable as possible.

@Jeanette Vale doing it part-time until we retire. We are not trying to replace our current income. Rather, we want to supplement our retirement income and give our lives purpose.
I started listing 20 items per day (Results)
I've been listing about 20 items a day for the last two weeks on eBay and Poshmark, and we've already sold about 30 items between the two platforms. I've had to revitalize my eBay store by just being consistent, and I know this will take time. But using my own app to create listings has been so easy. I'm excited for the day when I'm able to list 50-200 items a day and not have it take so much time. Here's kind of my daily workflow: 1. Take photos 2. Upload to Easy Flip 3. Ship out orders 4. My day is done!

We could not do this level of listings without AI automation. Being part-time using AI automation is essential to our success. I am now listing 20 items per day in minutes instead of hours.

@Red West this had potential to go bad. I am very glad it worked out for you.
Where do I find things to resell?
I hear this constantly You have treasure right there in your state It takes Time and effort Research is key to being a reseller what people do for hobbies, sports and fun there Weather These are things that are easily found right where you are at Estate sales in last day and leave your phone number for bulk deal or free pick up. They have to clean the property out to sell it Everything goes Contact real estate brokers and apartments or landlords for free or they pay you clean out but no clean up Rentals have to be cleaned out to re rent Put ad in marketplace free or paid pick up Libraries have big book sales Second hand stores Church yard sales indoor and outdoor Storage companies need clean outs Retail store closings Whatnot is great for resellers because new sellers sell for 1.00 open bid shipping is cheap if you buy from 1 seller at a time in bulk Marketplace Flea markets The bins Put word out to friends Storage auctions Yard sales Platos closet store People die and they want stuff gone fast People throw people out and list their stuff dirt cheap in hefty bags on marketplace Trash or sunday people clean the house and garage out trash is on the street Even the day before trash pick up The dumpster at apartment buildings and storage companies if you dont make a big mess for them to clean up All you need is a grabber, hefty bags, a walking cane, a paint roller with pole, gloves Dont have a truck or trailor so you rent one at uhaul 20.00 a day Tax write off If you spend money on hotel travel expenses save receipts and record it in a little book Tax write off Things you say that will stop you from accomplishing anything I have kids im a single mom Dont have a truck Dont have time I dont get up that early Just Being lazy Im only sourcing in my city I cant find anything? This job is just not for you Time to get an hourly job Because you are only in the storage biz because you want to be Remember its your biz You are in charge You have to make the effort

There is stuff everywhere! My #1 place to get profitable inventory are the flea markets here. I have a couple of vendors who bring items each week just for me. My #2 source is Facebook Marketplace. I check multiple times per day for new listing for high profit items. When I find them I do not haggle. I send an offer immediately. Most often for the amount they are asking. This makes it a quick decision for the seller. My #3 source are local thrift stores. I generally wait for 50% off sale days. However, it goes back to the fundamentals. Know the top brands and models. Only source winners.
