SampleTank 4 MAX $30 @ Plugin Boutique https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/64-Virtual-Instrument/12447-SampleTank-4-MAX UGH! Seriously??!! I bought this during the holidays last year when it was on sale for $50! Still a good buy, but SERIOUSLY??!! I want my $20 back.

@Phillip Patterson Totally worth the $50 and then some! But I hate it when you buy something on sale just to see it on sale again for an even lower price later. I feel sorry for anyone who paid full price for it!
Goodbye Cakewalk by BandLab, Hello Cakewalk Sonar
This post is primarily about BandLab's introduction of Cakewalk Sonar and the phasing out of Cakewalk by BandLab, and what that means for current Cakewalk by BandLab users. I will post later about my own experience concerning the products. As of the June 2025 update to Cakewalk by BandLab, BandLab has introduced a Free Tier version of Cakewalk Sonar. Previously, Sonar was only available through a paid BandLab Membership subscription. With the introduction of a Free version of Sonar, BandLab is phasing out its predecessor Cakewalk by BandLab. But the expiration date for Cakewalk by BandLab is quickly approaching and will soon be as useful on your PC as chunky milk in the fridge. ----- "Cakewalk by BandLab will no longer support activation renewal after August 1, 2025. Existing installations will continue to work until their activation period expires, but no new activations will be possible after that date." Source: https://www.cakewalk.com/sonar#FAQ ----- In other words, Cakewalk periodically reactivates your license (as it asked me to do last night when I installed the July update). You are required to sign in to your BandLab account to reactivate the license. As long as your license to Cakewalk by BandLab remains active you can continue to use it. However, if your activation expires sometime after August 1, you will not be able to reactivate it, and thus not be able to use it. But exactly when will current activations expire? Will they expire on August 1? Days, weeks, or months later? Who knows? Not me. Who Cares? Not BandLab. ----- "Existing Cakewalk by BandLab users are encouraged to transition to Cakewalk Sonar for the best experience and support." "If you find value in Cakewalk Sonar and use it frequently, please consider purchasing a Membership to support its continued development and innovation." ----- Don't worry, your existing projects will continue to work in the new Sonar version. However, there are some things you need to know.

@Liora Vale Yes, definitely! Here's hoping! So far so good! The only issue I've had so far was when I loaded a Cakewalk by BandLab project into Sonar it translated all my instrument tracks as MIDI only tracks and all the instruments disappeared. So, I spent a couple of hours creating new instrument tracks and copying the MIDI from the MIDI only tracks to the instrument tracks only to have the issue resolved in the update made available the very next day -- the downside of using a fresh-out-of-beta product. I would have preferred to have waited a while longer before switching, giving them time to work more of the bugs out, but since BandLab has enforced such a short deadline the decision to switch was more or less imposed on us.

New Computer Platform
Hello family. I just got done building my new monster machine. It's an AMD Ryzen9 5950X CPU, Asus X570-E gaming WiFi motherboard, 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz RAM, 2 1TB NVME Samsung 990 Evo SSD's, XFX RX 580 8GB GPU and Thermalright 750 watt power supply. It's running Windows 11 Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Reaper DAW. It's all mounted in a 4U rack mount chassis. So far I have about $1000 in this system in all. What are your thoughts on this system. What would you do differently and why?

CHANGING MY PERSPECTIVE AND ACCEPTANCE
I woke up this morning with something new in my thoughts. A new perspective at my current life and where I am physically and mentally. As many of you may know I have several health issues and a couple of conditions that some (including myself) might consider challenging. I must admit I have lamented over the loss of abilities in many of the things I love to do. For some wonderful and unexpected reason I have a new understanding of some of my personal challenges and it started this morning. I think it was Helen Keller that said “"I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet," that coming from a Champion of Overcoming physical limitations, is the basis for my new outlook and for posting this to TRE family. I could list my “disabilities” and health issues but to my point they don’t matter. And no one needs to know what my ailments are. It is counterproductive. I am going to learn and grow and make music and help other people make music and Trust the Process and Enjoy the Process! I was going to say and “Process the Trust” but that would have been stupid so I’m glad I didn’t say it.
